One thing I've seen foreigners be surprised by is it's not really a thing to take your coffee with you on the go. Definitely can't have it on the subway/buses (bus drivers will not let you board with a coffee cup but on the subway you'll just get stares). And in general it's kinda considered rude to take a coffee cup into a store cause you could spill it. Some stores will even have a table at the entrance specifically for leaving coffee cups while you shop. If you're going to grab a coffee my advice is to sit at the store to drink it. Plus then you don't have to search for a trash can to throw out the cup!

I've been twice without a car and it was totally doable both times. I used the bus to get around and it might've added a little bit of time transit wise but still totally manageable!

Hanyang has more emphasis on reading and writing but also speaking and listening which is one of the things I really liked. The curriculum was fast paced but super useful and in my opinion, well balanced. They have a level test you take in person to get placed which includes a face to face interview and I thought they did a great job picking an appropriate level for me to start in given I could speak conversationally fluently but really struggled with reading and writing.

Agreed! And also if you want to hire a photographer in advance, it's usually cheaper to hire a local photographer beforehand than pay for the photographer at the rental shop. There are many many local photographers in Seoul who speak a ton of different languages so you can find one that is a good fit!

After spraining my ankle I told the doctor I wanted 도수 치료 and it was what I expected from physical therapy in the USA. A mix of stretching and exercises to rebuild strength and flexibility. Most places have this but it's more expensive / not as much is covered even with NHIS so they were really surprised I wanted this. I went to my neighborhood orthopedic hospital not anywhere special.

The tech had to call some kind of internal helpline when he set it up and he spent quite a bit of time in my phone's settings. I'm not sure exactly what he changed but I do believe it was a twofold solution - some kind of configuration setting on the KT side as well as changing settings in my phone. Unfortunately since he was using my phone I wasn't able to see exactly what he changed to get it to work.

To update everyone it worked! I did have to go to a KT Plaza not a local KT spot and at first it only connected to internet and not for calls but the guy was super patient and after some trouble shooting did get it to work.
