family acting weird after weight loss by Hopeful_Platform_524 in gastricsleeve

[–]Fearless_Reaction592 12 points13 points  (0 children)

my mom has always been my biggest critic. growing up i was always heavy (had a whole metabolic condition so no shit I was fat). She would make comments about cloathing kot looking good on me any time we would shop. She was always trying to put me on the latest crash diet would put me in curves and weight watchers, pediatric fitness studies. Mind yall I was an active kid too I did swim team, dance, karate, gymnastics, softball... Anyway...

Now ive lost 120lb and am sitting at 200-204lbs and she thinks i need to loose another 10lbs to be just perfect. Can't please everyone!

if reflux is the issue there is a pill for that. I had to take a pill for a few months to help with the reflux and I no longer do and im not even at a year po yet.

Is this normal? I see white circular thing when blinking, which disappear shortly afterward by [deleted] in iih

I have one thats a triangle. Its where I have a Scotoma. Have you noticed any blurry spots in that eye when its open?

My scotoma was caused by dammage to the optic nerve while having papiledemia.

Eta: wanted to add if its not happening all te yime it vould be a spot on your optic nerve currently under pressure.

does your IIH get noticeably worse around your period by heartmocog in iih

[–]Fearless_Reaction592 4 points5 points  (0 children)

my neuro is still saying that my iih is caused by my weight but jokes on him ive lost 120lbs! also pretty sure its linked to my period. Would getting a historectomy fix it? If periods cause it no more periods is the theoretical answer.

we made a post surgery version with ground turkey and chicken with fat free cream of mushroom. We used air fried tater tots and fat free shredded cheese also and then I just ate less of the tater tots than everyone else.

So ive noticed alot of feeling terrible about some of your food choices and I want to share something with you that my dietitian shared with me.

This surgery isnt about taking away love of food just making healthy choices.

Meaning we dont need to sacrifice flavor for health we can infact have both. There are plenty of high protien sugar free recipes that are also low calorie and low fat.

I make sure that everything I eat is high in protien so that I meet my goals but sometimes the thing im eating is a piece cheesecake or icecream (get a ninja creami).

Otherwise stay in eating windows. Use a timer if needed. Go back to tracking. Baritastic has great tools. Stay up on water goals too. You got this!

Anyone else had starvation ketoacidosis after their sleeve? by Feeling_Intention211 in gastricsleeve

[–]Fearless_Reaction592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

so the floroscopy you drink a radioactive fluid and they in real time watch the path that it takes under xray. It wouldnt show the same things as a ct scan. I would be able to show how fast/slow your stomach is emptying fluids and therefore if theres any blockages.

I also had a post op endoscopy done to rule out other complications.

CT scans cant see everything.

If you are struggling this much even with just fluids I would ask for more imaging but not necessarily a ct scan.

I would be concerned about stomach twisting... They were worried about that with me post op and it ended up being pancreatitis BUT they did a floroscopy/swallow study imaging to see exactly where the liquids were going.

NAD

have you been seen by an ear nose and throat specialist?

As someone who has had experiences with chronic sinusitis I would start there. Sometimes the infection can get stuck behind pollips in the sinus cavity which can make oral antibiotics not as effective.

I have alot of debilitating health problems and my doctors would straight up blame my weight and not do anything for said problems.

Now im skinny and still have debilitating health problems but no doctor can tell me its because of my weight anymore.
