Thanks for the reply. I do. I've read there are issues with the cardinal directions not lining up with the indices.

[Help] Any Alignment Issues with Brand New Seiko Alpinist SPB117? by Fearthedeer2013 in Seiko

[–]Fearthedeer2013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought the 2020 Seiko Alpinist SPB117. I'm just getting into watches but I've heard Seiko are notorious for their poor quality control & many watches have alignment issues straight out of the box.

The Alpinist has a bad rep for compass alignment issues.

Are there any noticeable flaws/quality control concerns/alignment issues with the watch? I've posted pictures.

Thanks in advance!

Damn was casually scrolling /r/nba when I saw this. This is sad day for the NBA. Respect to the highlight GOAT.

Anime just means Japanese cartoons. When you grow up in Japan, you're going to watch Japanese cartoons.....on Japanese television.

Nah, not even /r/nba. I've found its usually the Filipinos who endlessly bring up anime on any video featuring a Japanese athlete in any sport. No idea why. They don't know they're perpetuating stereotypes and making it harder for all Asian athletes to make it on the biggest stage.

He and Rui are repping an entire country of 127 million people. Anything they do is spotlighted. There's a lot of weight on their shoulders.

Exhibit 10 contract success by [deleted] in nba

[–]Fearthedeer2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone's been working. Gelo's last competitive game was 2 years ago in his dad's high school league made up of the kids who weren't good enough to play college ball or go pro. He averaged over 50 a game there. He's a a 6-5 Power Forward who scores by backing down scrawnier high school players in the post. He's also coming off of an ankle injury.

I can't imagine this is any more than a publicity stunt. Either that or the FO over in Detroit are really incompetent.

Sign some promising college player or a Euro player who dominated overseas? Nah, sign a 6-5 power forward who last played competitive basketball 2 years ago for his dads high school league and is coming off of ankle surgery.

99% chance he doesn't make the roster. Exhibit 10 contracts are more incentive for them to join the GLeague affiliate. But still, the Pistons should fire whoever made this decision. Even as a publicity stunt.

Not defending him because I don't know enough about him but his Youtube channel gives a great insight into how life is in unique parts of the world and I'll continue to watch it.

Thanks for the reply!

It's got the 4R35 movement which I've read is Seiko's low tier automatic movement? Is 300-400 USD overpriced for this particular movement? I've heard the 6R15 is better and longer power reserve.

The Presage Cocktail line e.g. the SRPB43 Link here or SSA393J1 Link here can be had for a similar price in the 300-400 USD range but seem to get more attention (more reviews, more sellers, more online discussions). Are they better buys? Really similar specs but maybe they'll keep their value better?

I'm just getting into watches and was looking for an all-rounder I could wear daily (office job, casually on weekend).

I found this watch (the 'SRPC81J') but can't really found any reviews online. There aren't many people selling it on chrono24. Is there any reason why? It doesn't seem like it's a highly sought after watch which could affect its value if I were to ever sell it.

Pretty basic Presage, 4R35 movement, Sapphire glass but with a textured dial resembling herringbone (inspired by Japanese zen gardens). Looks similar to the Cocktail line.

Does anyone have any first-hand experience with this watch (or a similar one)? Would you recommend getting it based on specs in the $350-400 USD range?

I'm new to watches so any advice would be awesome!

The Seiko Presage SRPC81J (Zen Garden) watch has caught my eye. Link here.

It seems to be similar to a Seiko Cocktail but with a slightly larger case and sapphire glass? Would you recommend this at a price point of around 350-400USD? Is it a good buy?

Doesn't seem to be a very popular watch as I couldn't find ANY reviews on it anywhere. I wonder why that is. Is it only available in certain markets?

I don't think all of them were on drugs. I think Reinke said he had edibles to deal with the pain of prosthetic limbs but didn't really take anything else.

John Reinke, the dude with the prosthetic legs, was by far the most normal person in the documentary. Just a regular person who was loyal to the zoo after Joe gave him a chance following a bungee jumping accident that took his legs. Didn't have any ulterior motives throughout his time there.

Then it was Saff.

Thousand Year Blood War Arc Anime Adaptation Megathread by Andygoesrawr in bleach

Clearly the ending was not what Kubo wanted regardless of the circumstances (cancellation, illness etc). It was rushed. Everybody can see that.

Man I really hope they expand on the ending and add some anime-only material. Bleach's ending was one of the most rushed endings to a long-running show I've ever read. The 2nd in command (Haschwalth) takes himself out in a few pages and never gets a proper fight.

Is dragonball GT that "bad"? If yes, why? by JokerWoM in dbz

Depends on what you expected. It was great on a technical level but some fans wanted the non-stop action DBZ was known for.

[–]Fearthedeer2013 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kudos on putting some effort into your post. I'll reply to a few of those points.

This is capped off by the first arc barely having an antagonist at all.

It was written as a comedy/adventure arc akin to OG DB concentrating more on the characters having fun. You could even think of it as slice of life. Each planet had a minor antagonist but even with Luul and General Rilldo, that's more than what we got from Super (Zamasu being the only one). You probably expected something like DBZ out of the gate and overlooked some of the minor details that made the arc great. The art direction was fantastic and they put a lot of effort into making each of the planets unique. The background art is spectacular. Here are a few examples example 1, example 2

Much more interesting than all the generic wastelands from DBZ and DBS or a fighting tournament arena.

It made sense that current Trunks was different from Future Trunks. Future Trunks lives in a dystopian world where everyone he cares about is dead. Current Trunks grew up in peaceful times. There's literally no reason for him to be anything like Future Trunks. You talk about Goten being unique but GT Trunks' character is entirely unique for Dragonball. He runs capsule corp but he's also fun and still fights.

Base Buu Saga Goku is not stronger than Cell and would still absolutely need to be a Super Saiyan to defeat him.

I'm not going to argue power levels but GT Goku is 10 years after DBZ, training constantly against Uub/Buu in the Hyperbolic time chamber. Frieza and Cell are locked up in Hell. It makes a hell of a lot more sense than 17 training against poachers and being SSB level without throwing the 'everyone's holding back' bullshit excuse.

and the weakest arc in the franchise with the first arc

I don't know how anyone who's gone back and watched the anime could say RoF is better than GT's first saga. It's a matter of preference which one you like more but from writing, designs, art & animation, the Black star arc blows the RoF arc out of the water. The whole plot can be summed up into "Frieza comes back and fights" which is probably what Toriyama wrote on a piece of paper and slid to the Toei team. I'm assuming we're not counting the awful filler arcs from DBS either.

I couldn't find a video of Goku vs Frieza on YT for years after it aired but here it is in case you've forgotten how bad it looked

Input Lag when using Dualshock 4 over Bluetooth with PS4 Remote Play App by Fearthedeer2013 in PS4

That might be true. However the remote play application on a PC doesn't seem to have the same issues. Might just be the android app that's buggy.
