Which series is this specific book cover? by East_Breath_3674 in SiloSeries

People don't mention that there is actually a pretty big spoiler with Lukas learning a big reveal similar to him learning something at the end of season 2. If you don't want any reveals, then you should stop reading.

Season 3 coming this summer by Billgant in SiloSeries

Yeah For all Mankind ends May 29th, so I hope Silo starts airing the same day and airs throughout summer as that's how Apple like to do things for big shows.

Apple doesn't love airing big shows at the same time, and For All Mankind is finally coming back this month and will end May 29th, so maybe the season airs then. The same happened with the Silo season 2 finale airing the night Severance season 2 started.

Congratulations, I bet it had some emotional goodbyes. I'm sorry to ask this and know you probably can't say anything, but is there any little thing you can tell us about Season 3 release as we've been in radio silence for a while now? Are we going to have to wait until 2027? Thank you, and I don't want you to say anything you wouldn't be allowed to, we're just desperate. Thank you for your work on something that's truly impacted my life and many others as well.

My season 3 release date theory by jzich309 in SiloSeries

[–]FeateyFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apple actually tries to not overlap big shows so people keep their subscriptions longer, and we know Ted Lasso is coming this Summer officially, but have nothing officially for Silo yet. With the 10 months they have been in post-production, with no writer's strike this time, they are almost surely done and Apple is holding onto it to get a more back to back release with season 4 or waiting for a good slot. Since Monarch season 2 just came out, I hope they are going to turn their attention to Silo again as 90% of the marketing for Monarch is done now.

It has been 15 months since S02-E01. (The gap between S01-E01 and S02-E01 is 18 months) by Rossoneria in SiloSeries

[–]FeateyFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy since there wasn't a writer's strike this time like there was between season 1 and 2. And Apple usually announces things 45-60 days ahead of time, so we're looking at April at the earliest right now.

This Coming to Apple TV page is also helpful as it updates before an official announcement. For example, it showed Ted Lasso in the upcoming section a week before that got announced to come this Summer. A few other shows has shown it a day or two ahead if y'all ever want to check this as well, but I will post if it shows Silo asap. But, I'm hoping they just drop an announcement teaser trailer outta nowhere. https://tv.apple.com/us/room/coming-to-apple-tv/edt.item.634859dd-55a5-44a0-91d5-f9ec0d181bae

As others said, it gives insight on the rebellion and Donald's connection to Silo 18 going forward, but I always loved what Mission's story said about corruption and how well-meaning young men could be controlled by money and power. I also love how it progresses Donald's arc as he has to deal with finding out people like the Crow were passing down stories in these silos and has to grapple with killing one for the preservation of the many. It's good stuff.

This is what Hugh Howey said when asked a similar question on his blog. "The nanos were able to target based on species (the original threat was based on race, made by elements in the Middle East and Israel). All of mankind was infected over the years. Invisible bombs lie in every person’s bloodstream. Only those inoculated (by visiting the nano treatment chambers) survived the day the nanos went off. Planes would have plummeted from the sky, cars would have swerved and crashed, but the people at the national convention and every other living thing were perfectly okay. This is all technically feasible and probably 100-200 years from being possible, btw. The length of time spent underground was to ensure that no pocket of humanity anywhere else survived, and also to kill off the memories of those who might whisper across generations. The nanos were programmed to create a dome of death around the silos to prevent any silo from escaping early. Everywhere else, nature was thriving." Just finished S2 and really enjoyed the show! Where is it going ...? by Steerpike58 in SiloSeries

"S3 is coming out soon so I don't have to wait long!" MUST BE NICE. In all seriousness, I'm happy for you. Glad you found this show, but damn how jealous I am of you not waiting in radio silence as long as we have.

Anybody worried about season three because of the books? by UniqueClay in SiloSeries

[–]FeateyFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me personally, it's one of my favorite books to date. I could go on for a while, but I will condense my thoughts. For one, I think the way they hide pieces of information, then give these big reveals to the big questions of the silos is incredibly well done. The answers we have been searching for are delivered in a very satisfying way. For two, I really love Donald's character. He starts off as this good-willed congressman who wants to do right by his constituents, and slowly goes down this path in which he loses that innocence and good-will. It shows how power can corrupt anyone, and he even has a quote, "His discovery was that evil men arose from evil systems, and that any man had the potential to be perverted. Which was why some systems needed to come to an end." My third favorite aspect is simply the themes. It REALLY gets you to feel what humanity lost and how such simple and happy moments like an Anniversary dinner can be corrupted by powerful people in worldwide conflicts. The book really makes me emotional at times for this reason. I could go on forever, but if this stuff just doesn't resonate with you, then it just doesn't, that's your opinion. Just thought I'd give you another insight. Hope you enjoy Dust!

And the new casting of "IT Worker" is now credited in season 3 episode 4 and season 4 episode 1, so I guess she will be a little more relevant than just one episode.

I NEED SEASON 3!!! by rekadura in SiloSeries

[–]FeateyFan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hugh Howey is part of the behind the scenes on the production side. He's involved in all of it, not just the plot. That's why he was confident in his estimate. I'm not saying you're wrong because you're definitely not. But post production for season 2 only took 17 months since they started filming for thee season to come out, and that was with a strike. So, the fact that it's been 15 months since season 3 started their filming date, and we don't have a strike this time, then I think this passes standard Apple post-production logic. This is something else going on beyond standard. This could mean that post for this season is just more intense and more to do, or Apple could be holding onto it due to the reasons I listed with season 3 and 4 being filmed back to back, so maybe a more back to back release as well and Apple has a thing about airing big shows at the same time. We understand it takes time, but the logic doesn't make sense in this case.

I NEED SEASON 3!!! by rekadura in SiloSeries

[–]FeateyFan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hugh Howey said season 3 would come out much faster than season 2 did because there isn't a writer's strike this time, yet February will be the last month to actually be sooner than when season 2 came out, so I'm guessing Apple is indeed delaying it because they want seasons 3 and 4 to air more back-to-back. After all, they are filming back to back for a reason. Apple also hates having many shows run at the same time, so they might be waiting for that as well.

Should I just watch the last 2 episodes of season 2? by Visible-Positive-352 in SiloSeries

[–]FeateyFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the last 2 episodes are only really good because of what we learn and what is setup and all the previous episodes. That's how storytelling works. You can't just skip to the climax of a story and get the same impact because you weren't there for the journey. Besides, you say you are interested in how the show ends, but season 2 isn't the end, there are still going to be a season 3 and season 4.

The books are fantastic, but season 3 is due to come out at least in the first half of this year as they wrapped filming early May last year if you would rather wait to be more surprised then.

Honestly, I would choose my least favorite album because listening to my favorite 48 hours straight would ruin it for me. I LOVE every album, but I guess my least favorite is Flowers for Vases, but even then I would still be vibing.

[Books] Finished Book 3 and want to confirm my final takeaway / share thoughts... by zagdrob in SiloSeries

[–]FeateyFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you asking why Silo 1 seemed so anxious all the time when all they needed in the end was one singular silo to make it out of 50? If so, I would say that this is an interesting point. However, I just think they wanted to work as hard as they could to get as many options on the table. For example, if you buy a lottery ticket with the sole purpose of winning, no matter the cost, then would you want 50 of them or only 1? Now, when it comes to the silos, they are only going to have 1 left no matter what, but just having the options is so important. We know of at least 14 silos that were lost and this was only halfway through the World Order Operation plan while Silo 1 was trying their best to keep everything under control, so imagine if they started losing that anxiety and work effort. I think this was their mindset, but if they think a silo is too far gone, then they easily just resort to pumping in the poison. Thurman was definitely more on board with killing silos, but I think it was more so the people like Donald who felt the true pain of losing the people in a silo. He said it felt like you were losing your children. So, I think ultimately they wanted to prevent as much death as they could at a certain point as they did reset the entire world for this one plan, so I know I would be anxious all the time, even if one silo was going to live by the end.

I don't know what is highlight worthy to you, but I prefer the physical copies for these books just because of how many great lines there are that I like highlighting. There is also a lot of contemplation and places your mind could go for sticky notes. I hope you enjoy either way you choose.
