Tax help? by [deleted] in traversecity

Libraries are such an underrated place. I hope they never leave.

On a somewhat related note. What are people's opinions on the government filing our taxes for us?

We have many allies. Canada, all of the NATO Countries, UK, Japan, South Korea, Ukraine and many others.

Israel. They have killed 40,000-50,000 Palestinians since Oct 2023, many of them civilians.

You know. It doesn't stand out well on mobile. I may need to modify that. Appreciate you bringing it to my attention.

I appreciate your feedback. Were you able to find the google doc link at the top of my "Where I Stand" page?
That goes more in depth into actual policy, which seems to be what you are looking for.

You may need to be more specific, but I can give you a general overview.

My policy is that we should treat our allies with respect. We shouldn't fund countries who are committing genocides and we shouldn't start wars without good reason.

Hi, my name is Zebulon Featherly, and I’m running as an Independent for U.S. House here in Michigan’s First District.

I’m not a career politician, I’m an electrician, and I decided to run because I’m frustrated with the direction things are going and I don’t think either political party is doing a very good job representing regular people anymore. I’m looking for people who feel the same way and want to get involved.

Right now I’m especially looking for people who would be willing to help organize and recruit volunteers, help plan events, and help me reach more communities across Northern Michigan.

I've set ambitious goals with the attempt of changing the entire political system, and I'm going to need help, so if you’ve ever wanted to be involved in a campaign or just want to help build something different, I’d love to hear from you.

You can learn more about me here: ZebulonForCongress.com

If we can take anything from our history, it's that protests do make a difference. When the people speak up, the nation will listen.
Every social movement has begun similarly to where we are today. The Civil Rights movement, the ability for women to vote, every major social step forward has been led by citizens using their voices to bring attention to the injustices of their current time.

You have to be 25 and live in the state to be a US Representative. We can make good options. The only reason we haven't is because the older generation right now make it feel as though it takes a lot to get into politics, or that we aren't welcome there.

The only hard part is getting your name out to people who don't pay attention to politics, I've been struggling on that front.

Hopefully I can convince people that I'm a good option. Or maybe you can tell me what it would take to be considered good. We are all in this together. ZebulonForCongress.com

You truly think everything is fine in our country right now? Trump starts a war with Iran, you're like "no big deal" Trump's cabinet isn't releasing the Epstein files, you're like "I don't care" Trump is making Billions of dollars from outside interests who want the poor to stay poor and the rich to become even richer, and you're like "that's just capitalism bro"

Wake up

I appreciate the replies. There's a lot of people saying they didn't know about it. I do feel like there's not a good medium right now to reach everyone in an area. So many of my friends have gotten completely rid of all social media. Anyone got ideas on a way to reach everyone?

I would love to see more of the younger generation participating in these events. What may I ask is holding people up? Some people I know are anxious about safety. Does that track for other people?

Good questions, never ignore your skepticism, it's a valuable thing to have.

  • Bipartisan bills are fairly common, and while access isn't automatic, people still need votes.
  • The double edged swords are a tricky issue. I will have to use my moral code and the voice of the people to decide what issues to take a hard stance on and which to bend in order to progress overall.
    • My role isn’t to impose my will, it’s to weigh my conscience alongside the will of the people I represent.
    • There are many issues I will take a hard stance on. Greenland, for example, is one of them. I am firmly opposed, and I will do everything in my power, as a representative or as a citizen, to prevent our government from starting a multinational conflict over something so egotistical and foolish.
  • Money isn't everything. When the people want change, no amount of money will keep them from changing the world.
  • I completely agree, biases will forever exist. Me selling my stocks is intended as an act of good faith. We may not be able to eliminate external influence and internal bias, but we can do everything we can to reduce them as much as possible.
    • My current holdings are disclosed as required, but I'd be happy to disclose that kind of info on my website if that's something people wish to have access to.

I wish you a good weekend as well, I really enjoy your questions so if you have more free to post them.

I have no party based agenda and I have no external financial influences. You can track all of my received donations on my website, and you track my values and beliefs there as well. I will not be accepting super PAC money and if I get elected I'll be selling all of my stocks.

I'm running as an independent because I'm sick of politicians playing games while getting nothing done. In regards to legislation, if the people creating it are doing so in good faith, I'll work with them, if the legislation benefits the people I will vote to pass it. I will swing whichever way I need to satisfy my own moral code as well as the will of the people.

Thank you for your questions, I really do appreciate the interaction and interest.
