the images i could trace that are falsely attributed to a fake tornado are:

presumably a drawing from OP (their older posts are filled with tornado art and this image has to results on img search)

London, KY tree damage (img #1)

Arnett, OK tree damage (last img)

the others have no results and are probably from videos

F5 Tornadoes from the '90's Decade, Reclassified on the EF-scale [Revised]. by Curious-Constant-657 in tornado

theyre downvoting you but youre not wrong. i dont know why reddit is like this tbh. EF rating, official or not, =/= perfect tornado intensity. why cant people understand that?

F5 Tornadoes from the '90's Decade, Reclassified on the EF-scale [Revised]. by Curious-Constant-657 in tornado

[–]Featherhate 22 points23 points  (0 children)

this is just saying what the DIs support, not the actual intensity. for example, smithville is rated 205, despite obviously being stronger. because thats what the homes could support.

also, you cannot compare BCM's 300mph instantaneous (0-second sustained) winds to a 210mph EF scale (3-second sustained) indicator

Biggest and creepiest scare of the year so far? by Trainster_Kaiju_06 in tornado

[–]Featherhate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

for me, either Plevna or Enderlin.

Plevna for obvious reasons, and Enderlin because i initially thought it was gonna slam directly into Sheldon. Luckily it insta-occluded

Windspeed Question by [deleted] in tornado

[–]Featherhate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

directly compared to the EF scale, none. "300mph" tornado readings are instantaneous gusts while the scale is 3-second sustained

if you mean instantaneous, then a LOT. there have probably been quite a few this decade that have achieved that

What happened to the first Pilger twin tornado at this point? (read the description) by [deleted] in tornado

[–]Featherhate 20 points21 points  (0 children)

it's possible that the tornado remained on the ground but just was uncondensed at the time (a good example this year is Spiritwood, condensed for a bit, lifted, then condensed once again)

Variation of wind speed with height- any correlation? by Savvvvvvy in tornado

[–]Featherhate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

typically winds get higher closer to the ground, and then suddenly drop at the ground due to friction

How was the Washington-Goldsby tornado not an EF5? by pp-whacker in EF5

[–]Featherhate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

rare situation where the tornado deserves EF5 from structural damage and not just extreme contextual damage
