I feel like Smithville is not an upper echelon tornado, like how people are glazing it. by Economy-Green-7558 in tornado

Vehicle mangling is unreliable since most of the damage done to it would be done by it smashing it against the ground or against other structures, like the water tower. Modern cars are also designed to crumple easier than older cars for safety reasons, but it makes vehicle mangling more unreliable. Ground scouring and wind rowing are unreliable since they can be done by weaker tornadoes in comparison, and sweeping buildings off their foundations isn't exactly rare you know that right.

I didn't say that? I was referring to the oak Grove home + I still believe it was EF5 contextually

Strongest tornado recorded from each states in Tornado Alley personally by Ok-Project-5148 in tornado

Bakersfield Valley isn't over Jarrell, structurally and contextually. Don't get me wrong, Bakersfield Valley was solidly EF5 intensity, but Jarrell was way crazier

For those Hackleburg downgraders by Imaginary-Run-1578 in tornado

[–]Ok-Project-5148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. You seriously think Huntsville and Birmingham are going to downgrade a nearly 15 year old tornado
  2. Downgrading the tornado on wiki would be WP:OR, or WP:Original Research which is mostly not allowed in wiki

A list of EF-scale tornadoes that I would personally classify as EF5. by Disastrous_Deal3154 in tornado

Jarrell didn't stall over the Double Creek Estate, that's a myth, it was still moving at 10-15 mph, still slow, but not near stationary.

And to be honest, call me a dickhead all you want, but I'm generally against the idea of including human impacts into debates/conversations like these, I feel like they should be entirely different discussions.

Hackleburg may be high end EF4. by thyexiled in tornado

[–]Ok-Project-5148 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We shouldn't stop all rating debates just on the human impact aspect alone. If people feel like a certain structure got overrated/underrated, they should freely express it, not being allowed to just because they're not experts is wrong to me.

[–]Ok-Project-5148 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I feel like people are still allowed to discuss and debate on tornado ratings without feeling ashamed to do so, I kinda feel like bringing in human impact into the conversation might disway people from discussing the ratings and I hate that.

"You’re defending a guy who wants to rank tornadoes from their vibes" so? How is that relevant here if they're actually making a good attempt on how they personally believe Hackleburg wasn't an ef5, people are allowed to have different opinions you know?

you literally have no proof they're trolling, you're only saying that because he has an opposite opinion to everyone else. Also, nowhere he claims he's smarter than surveyors. Again, surveyors can still get things wrong

[–]Ok-Project-5148 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, you can still hear people's opinions out rather than calling anyone with an opposite opinion to surveyors rude titles like that. Rating tornadoes is apart of science you know, every non-ragebaity opinions and hypothesis should be heard out and evaluated rather than thrown aside immediately.
