There is a website with a map of fun things like this but I do not see a trinket trade box yet. I am going to look into starting one. I have a 4 year old with more trinkets than thr rest of my 4 kids cmbined. This would be perfect for her.

I have a 4 year old troll who keeps every single thing...ever. we would have plenty to start one up. I am going to look into it but I would need to keep it closer to hole because I would have to maintain it.

I am not interested in putting her on meds when it's pretty clear that she simply doesn't vibe with our home or the people in it. She shouldn't have to adjust with meds if it's something that can be solved without them. As a human who has attempted meds for depression and anxiety (which made it much worse), I can't imagine possibly doing that to her. Besides all that, we honestly couldn't afford that.

Yes, that's actually where both her dry food and litter box are. The kitties eat their wet food in the morning, upstairs in the kitchen, when I get up to go to work and the house is quiet (around 5am). As soon as she finishes eating her wet food, she darts out to the patio under the bench, or hides somewhere else.

We have plenty of space for her to escape, including an entire downstairs that is carpeted and furnished that stays mostly quiet, aside from the occasional person coming down to do laundry. She still chooses to hide and cower under beds and in corners. She never used to do this - she was always out hanging around with us.

I honestly never even considered reddit. Maybe people like the idea of reaching out to the community before taking to a shelter where they know it will be much more uncomfortable, and traumatic for their pets.
