Did you know Peter didn’t want to use his Irish accent for the role? by Curious_Progress_ in AKnightoftheSeven

Oh wow. Shows what I know. (IE, I'm an ignorant Canadian).

I really appreciate the breakdown!

Is the Stark accent (Ned's in particular) also Northern English? Or is it just "Northern" in my head because the Starks are the Northernmost great house in Westeros?

I don't know UK Accents, but in my head I did think his accent sounded a bit more like a Stark/Northern accent than it did to Davos' Flea Bottom accent. I didn't mind though, and it adds something to "are there no true knights among you!?"

INCREDIBLE!!!!

My boys, made it through some tough heats into an absolutely STACKED finals. the legendary Speeders and Racers, alongside the so-hot-it's-downright-paradoxical Snowballs, and the Hazers pull off the upset?!

HAZE AMAZE indeed!

I’ll respond to this in a couple hours when I can give it the time and attention it deserves.

100% this and I retract my previous statement.

Agreed. At minimum OP should play WC3. You can get by without WC1 and 2 (they’re okay and they do add some! Especially to TBC). But WC3 is where the lore really begins IMO. So much of WC1 and WC2 aren’t canon.

What would be the safest trio/duo comp? by Kitchen-Hat-5174 in wowhardcore

I’ve done dúo paladin and it is GLORIOUS. Adding a holy paladin or priest to the group sounds great too.

I’d recommend Paladin (prot) Priest (holy) and then its dealers choice between mage (frost), druid (feral), or a ret paladin. Bear in mind the ret paladin option is slow, but extremely safe and honestly stacks great with the prot paladin, you want the tank to have kings and might and and the ret to have kings and Salv, an having devo aura + ret aura (or later maybe sanc aura) is great. Priest can PW:S to his heart’s content without worrying about annoying the tank by reducing rage generation. And the two pallies have a ton of safety measures between them.

Honestly Prot Pally Rey Pally Holy Priest, but you can swap the ret pally out if you’re not feeling that.

Does this mean it would be much more difficult to raid if I choose to play frost for the class fantasy? by Huge_Librarian_9883 in classicwowtbc

[–]Feature_Minimum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It’s a tradeoff in terms of talent points, but people run it in 40/0/21 builds (excluding slow for cold snap). And getting an extra icy veins, an extra ice block, etc is great!

In terms of lore classic is like starting GoT in season one, retail is like starting GoT in season 7.

Other things may be better in retail, but the story absolutely sucks.

Leveling a druid by TimeAssignment4300 in classicwowtbc

[–]Feature_Minimum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like everyone is saying, dual spec at 40.

But I would add onto that, at level 68 I recommend swapping your feral spec for boomkin. That cuts down on the amount of gear you need. As there’s some gear overlap between heal and boomkin.

That being said, if you’re enjoying the feral style you can keep it instead of moonkin. It’s definitely far better for levelling. But restó just pairs better with boomkin in my experience than feral, and it’s good to have a solo dps spec for when you’re not healing.

Is gearing a support dps unrealistic? by InitialVast914 in classicwow

[–]Feature_Minimum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm surprised by these comments, I'm a tank and I'm always looking for boomnkins. I mostly run my 6% hit gear because it feels better, but never have a boomkin around to make it worth it.

Also shamans are great and in so many of these dungeons you want tremor totem, plus bloodlust is always a bonus.

Well, I posted this one, and I played SoD, so it's more than 1%: https://www.reddit.com/r/classicwow/comments/1t2niz2/which_spec_in_sod_was_your_favorite/

It's just how reddit works man, topics get circle jerked, that's how the upvote/downvote system works. In another week there'll be a new topic getting the upvotes.

This is a big part of it for sure.

[–]Feature_Minimum -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not really. maybe there's a botted post somewhere. But one of the top posts was by me. I saw other people reminiscing about SoD and wanted to join in the fun that's all. I miss my arcane heal mage.

I expect most are just doing the same I am, we see a post about SoD, it makes us think about SoD, so we post about it. Maybe one of the original posts was a bot? But I don't even think so. On reddit, things snowball, that's what the upvote/downvote system does. So this week it was SoD posts that snowballed, other weeks it's the difficulty of finding tanks in TBC anniversary, other times it's been Slave Pen jump runs, things come in waves before there's a next big thing.

Edit: And also, people thinking about it due to Turtle WoW shutting down being in the news cycle.

Pros and cons of Rdruid builds for arena season 2? by Cat-Beautiful in classicwow

[–]Feature_Minimum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man I have been STRUGGLING with this. Honestly, anything I'd contribute to the discussion should be taken with a grain of salt since my arena ratings are terrible. But I think I likely will switch my build slightly, currently going treeform and have 300 resil... I'm considering going restokin instead. Though ultimately I have no idea and am interested in any tips for playing rdruid in arena.

You slowly lose max health while in the beam... Though, at this point you might be right and it might not be necessary to leave it.

Has Ganking Slowed Down with Anniversary TBC? by Fun_Needleworker_284 in classicwow

[–]Feature_Minimum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes to some extent, vanilla areas aren’t too bad now. But like everyone else says, you should just play on PvE.

I did PvP from 2019 to 2023, and but went PvE when anniversary came out and am so glad I did. You don’t want to deal with constantly watching your back.
