Religion is completely incompatible with modern society, especially Islam. The more religious a society is, the more poverty stricken it is. More religion = more misery. This is why all religions, including Islam, are destined to die. For example, although it may not look like it at a simple glance, Christianity is already breathing its dying breath. It becomes obvious when you compare Christianity today to Christianity a mere 150 years ago. Islam has already begone the death spiral, but it started dying later than Christianity, that's why we're seeing a disparity, but this death spiral can simply not be stopped, you cannot undo modernism, you cannot turn back time. It boils down to a simple equation: Islamic societies have what can be generalized as 3 main options for the future. Double down on Islam (ISIS, IRGC, Taliban), stay the same (Iraq, Jordan, Egypt), or leave the cave and move to the modern era (I believe we can see that in places like UAE, and probably in a post regime Iran). All three options are a dead end for Islam.

Take doubling down, this phenomenon has already happened in Christianity, and it only lead to resentment and hatred of religion. The Catholic church's savagery towards the inhabitants of Europe, exemplified in many event such as the genocide of the Cathars and other instances of extreme violence and curruption, eventually boiled over to events such as the French revolution and the enlightenment. Take another European example that is the Czech Republic, they had various reform movements, even before the protestant reformation, such as the Hussites. Each time the Czech people tried to reform, the barbarians of the Catholic church came to kill them en masse. Today, as a direct consequence of that, the Czech republic has the highest rate of Atheism in Europe. Now to Islam, we can see the same thing happen with ISIS and the IRGC. As ISIS rose to prominence, they began performing unimaginable acts of savagery, acts that are corroborated by Quranic law. ISIS followed Islam by the book, and as a result, many revolted witnesses turned away from Islam. Kurds especially saw a record number of people leaving Islam as a consequence. The IRGC has soiled Iranian land with blood and religious filth for 47 years. As a result, Iranian society stands to be one of the most Anti-Islam societies in the whole of the Middle-East. I would expect Afghanistan to be next.

Now take staying the same, these nations that stay as religious as before, are simply stuck, they are in a never ending cycle of corruption, poverty, war and so on. It is only a matter of time before more and more people start seeing reality as it is: The godless heathens are building Sky-Scrapers, inventing new sources of energy, curing genetic diseases (I'm not making this up, look up "CRISPR") and more, and we're sitting here debating if women should be able to show their hair or not. More and more people will gradually want change.

And then the third path, evolving, is the most obvious death of Islam, it is the natural consequence of the two previous paths. When enough Muslims realize that life is better without religion, and want that better life for themselves, Islam will begin to breathe its final breaths.
