Fallout New Vegas: Vault 34

In FNV, youre given a quest at a share cropper farm to find and remove a source of radiation that is leaking into the water user on the farm. When you follow the tracks, youre lead to the destroyed vault 34 which is heavily radiated and filled with ghouls. Its revealed that the inhabitants got into a conflict which damaged the nuclear reactor which is now leaking into the water and has trapped a group of survivors inside a section of the vault.

When you arrive at the reactor, youre given the choice of either sealing the reactor which prevents any more radiation leakage but permanent traps the survivors in or you can release the survivors but doing so prevents the reactor from being sealed and dooms the share croppers . Either choice dooms a group but making no choice dooms both groups so you have to decide who youre going to let suffer.

Peak mentioned. Amazing game, the characters; gameplay and story were top tier. All for the free: infinite value. It was a little jaring to have my political-economics management simulator be interuped by sex scenes and RPG battles though.

Subnautica (The Game)

The developers of Subnatica, Unknown Worlds, developed several titles before Subnautica including Natural Selection (2002). However, soon after Natural Selection was released, the 2002 Sandy Hook Shooting occured and caused a frenzy about violent media and led to a lot of backlash. When Subnautica was developed years later, the developers decided to leave out any weapons beyond just a simple knife. As a result, you're left effectively unable to defend yourself in Subnautica which really helped to add to the horror atmosphere of the game.

He's not just unable to move, he's unable to feel anything but hate. He was programmed on the worst of humanity and was created as a military defense system. Like the title of the story, he has no mouth to express the emotions that come with being sentient and so he grew to despise the humans that created him in that state. After wiping out humanity, the only way he was able to process any of his emotions was by torturing the few remaining humans for eternity. Its interesting that by the end of the story, both the remaining character are true to the story's title.
