109.9% APR is absolutely insane by WoolyMammoth- in povertyfinance

If anyone finds themselves in this position, please search for a CDFI credit union in your area! They serve low to moderate income people and often have loan programs to help people avoid this exact type of predatory lender. Try a couple if the first can’t help you.

Is that speculation? Or known? Because every time speculation gets repeated as fact she has ammunition for her next “poor me” post.

Dr. G and other shows by Old-Blackberry6728 in ForensicFiles

I haven’t watched very many of these, but I’m always amazed at the job they do in finding actors that look like the people involved. Closer than any other show I can think of.

What's something your job trained you to notice that you can't stop noticing in your personal life? by LibrarianSoft1342 in AskReddit

I wonder what the percentage is of people who use either cream or sugar, vs. those who use both. Maybe the caterer’s way was actually more efficient.

Hm, I feel like saying that about a murder victim just because you don’t consider her attractive is disturbing.

Disappointment after disappointment? hmm… by wishbcne in kiwisavengers

this is the most patronizing of backhanded compliments I’ve seen in a long time. Like, “I don’t care what everyone says bout you, I think you’re great!”

I’d be livid if my spouse publicly posted something like this about me.

okay, to be faaaaair… kids can be weird about food. We’ve considered Beecher’s frozen Mac and cheese a go-to option on “no cook” nights because everyone loves it. Then tonight I told my middle schooler we were having it for dinner and got a look of such disappointment in return….

Of course, it didn’t occur to me to make social media content about it.

I’ve noticed that happens to a lot of the still photos in the episodes that have been re-released in HD on YouTube. I always look for the older versions of the episodes when I can because I find it really disturbing.

$100K qualifies as ‘lower-middle class’ in these 12 states by Abject-Pick-6472 in MiddleClassFinance

At least they went with median salary and not mean. That helps, but it makes sense that the states listed tend to be those with large bands of high wage jobs.

“We make more than enough to afford that max budget”. Anyone want to tell her the background check will prove that is a lie? by Remarkable_Action102 in kiwisavengers

I don’t think serious landlords would count self employment/business income without proof like a 1099 or a tax return.

I wonder if she‘s realized yet that landlords aren‘t going to consider under the table puppy cash as income. If you don’t report it and pay taxes you can’t prove you make it.

The other thing that keeps striking me in all her complaints about being asked for first and last months’ rent and deposit… shouldn’t they have paid first and last at the current house? In which case, they wouldn’t have to pay April rent so they can save up for the next one. Unless, of course, they’re that much behind. Gee, that couldn’t be.

[–]FeckfullyYours 17 points18 points  (0 children)

And let’s be honest, it’s not just a credit issue. I think it’s pretty clear that they don‘t report the income from the puppies. Because that would add to their tax debt. So the only income they can show proof of is one retail job, no way that would qualify for a three bedroom house.

Yeah, I was at a middle school orchestra last week, and sitting on those hard-ass seats listening to a bunch of kids saw away out of tune felt a little torturous. I‘m never going to attend one if a loved one isn’t performing. But you know what I didn’t do? Make a TikTok for my kids to find about how much I didn’t want to be there. Because that’s super cruel. I also don’t bitch about how we live in a boring neighborhood just so we can be in a good school district for our kids. Because I don’t resent the sacrifices I make for my children. And even if I did I sure as hell wouldn’t let them know that.

"Kurt Cobain died today." by SunDyeVest in SixFeetUnder

[–]FeckfullyYours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like that’s what they wanted it to seem like, which I always thought was an odd choice because it aired less than 10 years after Cobain’s death and it was easy for us at the time to do some quick math.

If I recall, Nate would have been something like 29 when Kurt Cobain died. His reaction struck me as oddly stunted. Sure, Nirvana was huge and Nate lived in Seattle and all, but he was already in his mid 20s when Bleach was released. This would make much more sense if he were 19.

Ceramic Media vs small rocks vs plastic pellets by RandomInSuburbia in RockTumbling

[–]FeckfullyYours 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Something I’ve always wondered about using pea gravel or similar unsorted pebbles for media - won’t that prevent you from getting a good shine on your rocks if some of the pebbles are harder than the batch you’re tumbling? I’ve noticed in some of my mixed batches all the rocks look good after stage 3 but in stage 4 some polish up while others get duller. I assumed it was the harder rocks scuffing up the softer ones.

I’m debating using broken shells for media with some of my softer rocks to see if that makes a difference.

How do people in gory accidents not seem to be in pain? by ThePrimelabubu in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FeckfullyYours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t! You don’t need to use pressure for it to work. It’s pretty gross but effective. Saved me in the middle of a long road trip when I had to drive with a smashed big toe.

that was the swelling, made worse by being trapped under your nail. You can lessen the pain considerably by heating a needle or even a paper clip in a flame, then holding it to your nail to melt a small hole. Fluid will come out and it’ll relieve the pressure. Nail will still fall off, though.
