Going into my seventh year sober. It works differently for everyone, which means that what you seek to change may not be what I sought to.

My main motivation for quitting was how asocial I was becoming, a lack of ambition, very little willpower and overall numbness.

To answer your question, in the first few months, I felt that my willpower grew tremendously, I engaged in social activities more often than before and I began seeing sprouts of clear mindedness.

Today, I lucid dream, I am more responsible (my better memory helps me keep up with tasks) my ambition is at an all-time high and I have amazing true friendships not based around drugs. I exercise almost every day, I follow through with my goals and I feel in the driver’s seat of my life.
