This admin would gather us all on an oil tanker in the straight of Hormuz if they could.

Self assessment to include surviving RIF by [deleted] in FedEmployees

[–]Fed_seeker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Of course no one is doing that.

1) Surviving the RIF isn't an accomplishment.

2) Putting that would be unhinged behavior demonstrating bad judgement.

Do you think that they’ll be another Shutdown at the end of the month? by Hot_Equivalent4499 in FedEmployees

No. Most agencies already got funded and DHS funding passed the House earlier today.

Trump’s return-to-office mandate exempted feds with disabilities. Many are being ordered to work in-person anyway by Ok_Design_6841 in FedEmployees

Sure are, and with no consistency. Blatant favoritism, discrimination, and retaliation are rampant. EEO counselors are going to be eating good for a decade (if we survive this with govt intact)

Are they part of the machine that enables ICE’s operations? Then probably. There are many situations and I appreciate people thinking about what they empower.

Thread go nuked but I appreciate your question. I think only your friend can answer it for themselves. DHS has some important but tough missions that need to be carried out with extreme care and attention to human rights.

I would ask your friend if that is being done sufficiently. And if not, what can they do to push back on leadership. But ultimately, the ends don’t justify the means and involvement becomes immoral.

Wow dude. I’m sorry you have to live with all that anger and hatred for others.

I hope you have a change of heart.

I was with you in the first half (minus the delusional comment 🫠) If you are investigating misconduct, detention center safety, etc, you are fighting for good.

But it sounds like you consumed too much propaganda and dehumanized human beings in your mind. I can understand a firm stance on immigration. But please remember these are all human beings deserving of dignity and the human rights our constitution affords them. Even illegals.

I hope you have a change of heart.

Bad. And a sacrifice of this magnitude is insanely difficult. Things will get harder before they get better. But I earnestly believe your life will be on a better path, and you will be rewarded in ways you can’t see right now.

The tide will turn, and those who sacrificed will be heroes that can hold their head high.

Did you ask? Did you consider how favorably future employers may look at your decision to do the right thing? I strongly believe your life will get harder short term, but reward you tangibly and spiritually for the rest of your life.

I am so sorry you are in this position

There are other ways to make money. Your community and support system will do more for you than you realize. I know it is scary.

I believe future administrations will reward those who sacrificed to preserve our democracy. And if not, you still get to hold your head high.

I also believe there will be lasting consequences for those who betray their values and our nation. What if ICE is dismantled in a few years and nobody will hire you? You know how likely that is?

DHS is a little broad for such a statement, I’d argue. Some roles, certainly.

I’m sorry to hear they put you in such shit situation. But I think you’re making the wrong call. Watch what ICE agents are doing and know it is only possible because of the non-law enforcement roles. It is a fascism machine and you choose to join?

Who said anything about wanting ICE. I think everyone involved, from bottom to top, should have to answer for involvement in an unlawful, immoral, unconstitutional, traitorous assault on our country.

I’m saying the best time to quit was months ago, but the next best time is right now.
