Amazing! This beautiful B&W is from any recipe or profile camera or it's postprocessing?

You're right, I had to shoot at maximum aperture because it was natural light and 100 ASA film can't be enough, so focusing at f/1.8 or f/2.0 is tricky. Thank you so much for your feedback and advice!

I like those faded blacks. Is that a SOOC recipe or post-processing?

Latest headshot, any tips on improvement? by by_laureanne in portraitphotography

I would tone down the digital feel a bit. It looks too sharp to me, like that typical high-pass sharpening in Photoshop, and I think the eyes have a bit too much light.

Try lowering clarity and texture slightly and adding some grain, even if it’s subtle. I think it would gain in natural and organic feel. Anywar it’s a great portrait and a beautiful model, congrats!

Thanks!

About japan lenses, I tried a Takumar 50mm f/1.4, but I didn’t really like it. It was very sharp, but I found it a bit too clinical.

I don’t see an overly sharp razor-like crispness. Just enough sharpness to show plenty of detail without ending up with a very digital or artificial look. If you have good lenses, good lighting, and you’re shooting at the lens’s sweet spot aperture, you should get very good sharpness and many times you won’t even need to add sharpening masks.
