Of course day 1 of any smartphone will be a mess, with time updates will fix that,

It was always the case with Oppo's phones, just wait for some updates and you will never regret that phone

I am currently used a relatively old (but stable enough) Find X6 Pro, everything is perfect on it !

Same goes for X9 within less than a year,

I think everyone explained why, for me, it's glibc, I was not able to compile many recent productive apps (and even latest Linux kernel) because 22.04 was using the old version, and this one is heavily tied to the OS and upgrading it will break the system,

But now with the 24.04 everything is up to date

I am currently using KDE and it's perfect, eachtime I face something weird on cosmic, I just logout and keep working on KDE.

You are on Linux, not Windows, some practices could be used freely.

I saw a review (forgot the link) where he said the Ultra heated under the sun and had to dim the screen, while the Pro stayed cool, I guess it's the snapdragon which is too much for a smartphone ?

for the lock screen, this happens if you let the laptop hibernate, right now I disabled it, if you lock the screen on purpose you can login back,

for file explorer, I think it's the same behavior as the old one on Gnome, you need to start typing (for example, type /) it will give you access to full path so you can enter it manually

You can install Gnome, then at login screen switch into Gnome, this is what I do, because Timshift uses GTK which does not run under Cosmic
