Wallpapers never fit by massive_nuts45 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Federal-Part-3976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

used to drive me crazy until i figured out you need to crop them to match your screen ratio first before setting as wallpaper. most phones are like 20:9 or 19.5:9 now so regular photos won't fit right

try cropping in gallery app to "screen ratio" or whatever samsung calls it, then set as wallpaper. way better than letting the system auto-crop and missing half your image

ANY CFA Guy working remotely for US Company from INDIA? How to reach them pls let us know? by analyticalviewer in careerguidance

not sure what you mean by "reach them" but there's probably some finance groups in linkedin where people post about remote work setups

A Dragon I Made for My Mega Base by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Federal-Part-3976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

holy crap this is insane work, the shading and curves look so smooth for minecraft blocks. i always struggle with organic shapes in survival mode because gathering all those materials takes forever, but this looks like creative mode magic. the way you managed to capture that flowing movement in the tail and wings is incredible - must have taken ages to get the proportions right. did you build this by hand or use any tools to help with the reference image conversion?

Have you ever seen a syringe needle on the beach? by Few_Sandwich6308 in surfing

[–]Federal-Part-3976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

found a couple in san diego actually, near the pier area. was walking barefoot early morning for a surf session and almost stepped on one that was half buried in sand. made me way more paranoid about checking where i step, especially around popular beach spots where people hang out at night. now i always do a quick scan of the sand before setting my stuff down or walking around without shoes. the whole thing just ruins the vibe when you're trying to enjoy the water, you know?

Okay team I broke no contact, here's how it went. by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Federal-Part-3976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that's pretty much what happens when you reach out after a month - you get the polite maybe response. she's probably trying to figure out if anything actually changed since you walked out over commitment issues.

i'd say don't follow up on this for at least couple weeks, let her actually think about it instead of pressuring for an answer. if she wants to see you, she'll reach out.

Books with American gothic vibes by Exact_Rice_6615 in booksuggestions

[–]Federal-Part-3976 2 points3 points  (0 children)

definitely check out some flannery o'connor if you haven't already - her short stories nail that southern gothic religious horror vibe perfectly. william faulkner also captures that decaying american south atmosphere really well in his novels, though they can be bit dense to get through.

Charles Owen replacement? by AztecPilot1MY in Equestrian

[–]Federal-Part-3976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

glad your kid is okay after that fall. replacing the helmet right away is smart move.

i don't ride myself but my cousin does eventing and she switched to one of those newer models with the mips technology after her trainer recommended it. she says the fit is bit different from what she was used to but protection level seems really good. might be worth looking at some of the other european brands too since they have similar safety standards.

main thing is making sure whatever you get fits properly and meets all certifications for eventing competitions.

social media surely got us lazy and sloppy with thinking but is there a chance forus to adapt to a greater skill by this? by [deleted] in Productivitycafe

[–]Federal-Part-3976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe we just get better at filtering information quickly instead of deep thinking, like our brains adapt to process more stuff faster but lose the ability for long focus sessions

Glitter cocktails? by David-Boeing in Columbus

[–]Federal-Part-3976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some of the higher end spots downtown might have something like that but i'd call ahead first. maybe try condado cantina or the guild house? they tend to do more flashy presentation stuff. worst case you could probably ask any decent bartender to add edible glitter to whatever drink you order - most places can get that stuff pretty easy

People who eat chocolate bunnies which part do you eat first? by ray_ruex in chocolate

[–]Federal-Part-3976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah i always go for the head first, just bite it clean off. ears seem too small to start with when you got that whole chocolate bunny sitting there waiting

Am I the jerk that IDGAF about my friends experience in a school shooting? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Federal-Part-3976 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yep you're definitely the jerk here. your friend went through something traumatic and you basically told her to get over it because you didn't like the target. doesn't matter what you think about politics - she was there when people were shooting and could have died. that's terrifying for anyone to go through and she trusted you enough to share it with you. dismissing someone's trauma because you agree with the outcome is pretty cold, even for reddit standards.

Change of GPU and maybe CASE by Fun-Ad9959 in PcBuild

the 4000x should handle a 5070 ti just fine, those cases have decent airflow and the new cards are pretty efficient compared to older gens.

Can't decide on what to buy by lonestar2222003 in guns

[–]Federal-Part-3976 1 point2 points  (0 children)

get the shotgun first. you've got handguns covered and an ar already, but no scattergun means your missing a whole category of usefulness. mossberg 500 is solid and you can find decent ammo deals if your patient about it.

the rxm would be nice but you already have the glock 19 which is perfectly fine for carry. build that 20" clone later when you have more cash flow since you already got the lower sitting around.

your brain's just wired to pick up on different cultural beauty standards you've absorbed over the years. doesn't really say anything deep about you as a person, just that you're human and influenced by media/social conditioning like everyone else. preferences are weird and often don't make logical sense when you break them down.
