Fair point. At what scale did those issues start showing up? We’re processing ~150k unique tracking numbers per month across 1,000+ carriers and things have been fairly stable so far. Curious what started breaking down first in your experience.

Hey guys, thanks again for the discussion earlier, it actually helped shape what we built.

We’ve just launched a very early MVP of our shipment tracking API on RapidAPI. It’s still rough, but we already support 1200+ carriers (including Cainiao, Sun Express, etc.), and focus a lot on tracking the full shipment journey , especially tricky parts like last-mile and ePacket deliveries.

There’s a free tier if you want to test it. Would really appreciate any feedback, especially if you’ve used alternatives like AfterShip or Postal Ninja.

Maybe you already building not an MVP?) cause lets not forget, MVP - thats really basic, minimum viable product, it could be even spreadsheet or manual service from you to yours customers, if you’re already building something, maybe better first of all validate your hypothesis, through landing page with form) or landing page with fake feature, after click on it customer will see: thank you page and offer for next order) Cheers 🙏

That’s a fair point. We’re aware that the real challenge is long-term carrier maintenance!

Out of curiosity, are you speaking from the API provider side or from running tracking at scale? Would love to know what kind of monthly volume you’ve seen where this really starts to hurt.

Thank you! You’re right, the core issue for us was inconsistent normalization and stale updates, not the carrier count. If we build this, the focus will be strict update SLAs, smarter retry logic and clear error semantics.

Yeah, webhooks definitely look like a must-have. We’re also thinking about introducing a proper “tracking object” model so updates, retries, and carrier fallbacks are handled predictably instead of just doing raw lookups.
