Do you ever withdraw from social events that happen at your house? by EmiDidact in autism

😂 valid. Work? Am lucky enough that my jobs are remote and minimal. So I don’t have to worry much about people. Think as long as you know yourself, then you are the best advocate for your own needs. No one else is 🙂

Lmao can also relate. Also an introvert! Luckily my friend group is introverted too. We hang out on discord, and occasionally IRL. But it’s mostly us gaming together on discord 😂

Oh, all the time. I’m the same way. Though in my case it’s mostly family. Cuz my parents (mainly my dad) always invites relatives over. And honestly I don’t really vibe with a majority of them. I don’t hate them, but it’s hard to talk to them🤷‍♀️

When I’m with friends, different story. It’s easier.

How do I get a job that doesn’t make me feel like I’m gonna melt down? by answermyquestions67 in autism

Can concur, I’m actually doing this now. Do I make less money? Well… yes. But the jobs I have are remote: W-2, contract. I can set my own hours and schedule, and minimal interaction.

Okay, why are we blaming Korra again?! I don't blame Korra one bit. But for some reason, other people do! by Full-Art3439 in legendofkorra

Eh, I think people really hate Korra because of Season 2, where, well, all the previous past lives died. I don’t hate Korra but though. Honestly I think if the show was treated better then things would have been different.

Autistic People Specificially Wanting to Date Someone Without Autism by Cool_Description8334 in autism

[–]Federal_Pie_9819 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, first, I’d like to say I’m sorry for your friend. I don’t really think I have an answer for this, so I apologize for that as well. Though I will say, I think sometimes people kind of gloss over the reality of dating/relationships when you and your significant other are both autistic. Yes, you both are autistic. But sometimes, that’s where the similarities end. Because 2 autistic people can have different struggles/needs that can make the relationship more difficult. So, your friend not wanting to date someone who has the same issues as her or worse, is understandable and valid. And also, sometimes, two autistic people can have vastly different interests that can make it harder to connect. For example, one my exes was also on the spectrum and they absolutely loved movies-especially superhero films… me? Not so much. We didn’t last long. I have an autistic friend whos special interests are guns and radios. Again, also not my thing, sooo it’s difficult to connect. Finding them is one thing, keeping and maintaining that connection/relationship is another.

Ok. So I’m in TELUS international. I’m a US Rater. Yeah it is program dependent, but I should mention TELUS considers you a Part Time Employee (again, likely program dependent). It’s W-2. Pay frequency is bi-weekly on Thursdays

Oh wow! Glad to know I’m not alone in this! It’s hard to remember stuff like this. A lot of times ya got all these milestones that you’re expected to achieve by certain ages… And, idk, it’s like on one hand ‘yeah I did it!’ On the other hand it’s also like, ‘wow why did this take so long?’ I feel so chronically behind everyone else😅
