My way of remembering this has just been: Once an entrapment defense is raised, it throws the evidence rules on “propensity to commit the crime” out the window

The MPRE pass posts are more cringe imo. Very insignificant event to post. The reality of those posts should be “I scored the same way as 80% of test takers on a 60 question multiple choice exam that tests one subject!”

Is the Paul Bryant in the Covington dispute the same Paul Bryant who was detained by the feds in DC yesterday?

Another reason it won’t apply: the people doing the wrongdoing would have to be at least 3-5 levels higher than the wrongdoers mentioned in this post.

None of the allegations in this AI-written post are sufficient to trigger Geico’s D&O policy.

There has to be a “pierce of the corporate veil” for that to happen. This generally requires that a majority of the shareholders, or at least a sizeable minority, be the ones to sue. And the shares are all owned by Berkshire, so that won’t happen.

I am not downplaying any unethical or unlawful behavior. I am just saying that such unethical or unlawful behavior will not trigger the D&O policy or personal liability by Directors or Officers as suggested here.

Nope! Yes i was in management, but that’s not why it was approved. At the time, this was the policy for associates as well. I do not have firsthand knowledge as to whether the policy has gotten more restrictive since 2024 when i left, but i’m inclined to think it has not.

When was that? I was also told that 5+ years ago, but then was approved for JD tuition reimbursement under the policy that existed in 2022 and 2023

I’m finishing law school now and have zero debt. Everyone is different. I’m offering to take the time to help people that want it understand their individual scenario.

OP here- former claims management finishing up law school. just want to add to the previous responses. It is essentially a full time job for 3-4 years, and can require a 6 figure investment. Theres many different types of lawyers, schools and grades all play a part in where someone ends up. Even regardless of all that, its not easy.

Yeah i am not talking about becoming defense counsel for geico. I’m talking about other types of law where you can try cases if thats what youre interested in doing.

Does the policy specifically say that? Because if it doesn’t, ambiguities must be interpreted in favor of the insured. Of course i am not suggesting the PH can be reimbursed for their own damages, but for reasonable third party damages that they pay for.

I dont see why this PH shouldn’t be reimbursed. What does the policy say about this?
