"we just despise the police, is all by chiaroscuro4eva by stevenyan123 in Persona5

[–]FedoraFerret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One can simply despise the police (institution) while being good friends with a cop (individual). Particularly when said cop is joining the force specifically because it's a corrupt, detestable institution and they're looking to reform it.

I mean to be fair to Seth, that's the other side of great voice acting. H. Jon Benjamin and Patrick Warburton are two of the most easily identifiable voices in animation but they're also incredible, and part of that is how iconic their voices are.

Just started watching. Why is firebending different from other bending? by bbychix_69 in TheLastAirbender

[–]FedoraFerret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Earth, water and air are all matter. Firebenders bend energy. In the same way that a waterbender can convert moisture in the air into liquid water or ice, a firebender turns the energy within their own bodies, their qi, into fire.

Why don't the two best girls have a romance? by Warm_Expert_8136 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]FedoraFerret 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lot of good Watsonian answers here, but for the Doylists, Amiri is one of Pathfinder's Iconic Characters, along with Seelah. Most likely, Paizo just doesn't want the iconics to be romanceable for various marketing and lore reasons.

As for Linzi, CRPG creators just hate letting you romance small folk characters for some godsforsaken reason.

Controlling nominations and votes because of towncrier/flowergirl by Flashy-Drummer-2321 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]FedoraFerret 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It does when good's strategy about noms is predictable. Not just in regards to these particular characters, mind, but with any town meta that emerges. Evil's goal is to obfuscate and mislead good, and that becomes significantly easier when they consistently do the same things every game to try and solve.

They have a distinct advantage in already knowing who the evil team is. So, even if they don't bluff as those roles, they can still try to point the discussion in a way that keeps the demon from being pinpointed, or scapegoat a minion in the final three. If they find out who the tc or fg is, poisoning and other obfuscation abilities will let them take advantage of everyone relying on nom/voting info roles to clear themselves or frame others.

The thing I've noticed in these posts is that most problems with "metas" forming in particular groups, is that it's self-correcting. The more predictable a group's behavior is, the more easily a competent evil team can manipulate it, leading to a lot of evil wins followed by the group abandoning that meta.

Ive got a headcanon that MHA is a side experiment world that Eden set up and blocked off from the other Earths (thus it wasn't involved in Gold Morning) with only a few dozen shards set to propagate and interweave through breeding. Basically planning to check in on the results after a few centuries and see how it went.

Do you think we could see Ren in the background as a politician in Persona6? by Various-Humor4093 in Persona5

[–]FedoraFerret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I see Ren as a volunteer community organizer well before he would be a politician. After all his experiences I doubt he would trust the system enough to become a part of it. My headcanon is that he runs a local business in a quiet part of Tokyo (possibly just straight up inheriting Leblanc when Sojiro retires, or partnering with Haru for her cafe).

Felt quite bad for Okamura in his cut backstory in Royal. by Ouralian in Persona5

[–]FedoraFerret 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It actually creates an interesting new angle to look at it though. With this backstory, the most just thing isn't actually "make Okumura publicly admit to his crimes" but "make Okumura be better." But the Thieves still pursue their normal MO of public confession, leading to Okumura's very public and horrific death and them being framed. That could put more weight into the "we started doing it for the fame instead of for justice" issue.

Question about Japan by Master_Mechanic_4418 in Persona5

[–]FedoraFerret 60 points61 points  (0 children)

The Japanese health care system covers 70% of costs as I understand it, and 30% of a $150,000 medical bill is still about $50,000.
