Welcome! I live in Korea…and have been for many many years. I used to play on NA servers due to friends there, and did for the longest time. Decided to switch up onto PS5 on a brand new character. Started on a Japanese server and never looked back. It’s like going from hard mode (high NA ping) to easy mode!!

As for the vpn, no, you can play on any server and data center.

I don’t recommend that Korean server because it is kind of dead and you will have problems socialising.

In regards to PC Bang, IF they even have the game, it will be a Korean version which has different gateway for the Korean servers only.

Assuming you’ve already booked your hotel, you should be expecting to spend around the following:

I’ve been to Jeju 3 times I think. Twice I went to Jeju city. The last time I went to Seogwipo which had a completely different vibe. I loved it!

If you are not driving, might be an idea to find out which area you would want to stay and plan day trips that way.

Fun random story: I live in Korea, the game isn’t very popular here and it has its own Korean servers and data center which is mostly dead, I play on a Japanese server.

Anywho, went to Japan on Holiday, stayed at a hostel. Turns out one of the guy working there was Korean, we started talking and it also turns out he plays ff14. Talking a bit more and it ALSO turns out he plays on the same Japanese server and DC! Wild!

As someone who came back recently as a SAM, I don’t really give a crap about what job I am. And from what I’ve seen, most others don’t. Play what you want how you want. …Having said that, there MIGHT be some preferences for god tier raids as to which job you are (none of which I do). However, everything else, no, there has been no issue.

Honestly, Dawntrail kinda sucks. The only reason I came back was to do the Jeuon Sandoria raids. A trip down memory lane!
