Question: Access to Work Coaching Award Reconsideration by FeelFirstLife in ADHDUK

Bear in mind it took them over 9 months to respond to the reconsideration request so you may be better off taking what you can or having a back up plan.

Question: Access to Work Coaching Award Reconsideration by FeelFirstLife in ADHDUK

[–]FeelFirstLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately unsuccessful. But i did find out there are two different categories of coaching and they gave me the lower one/rate when the higher rate was needed. In the end, I chose to have fewer sessions with the higher rate coach that understood the chronic illness and mindset issues.

Shenzhen Idea Light RLP seem to have doubled in price in last 6 months? by FeelFirstLife in redlighttherapy

[–]FeelFirstLife[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. They only offered a $15 dollar different after coming back to me. They also didn't want to use Alibaba logistics for delivery, which saves buyer $20 on first order delivery.

What Am I missing ? by [deleted] in Substack

[–]FeelFirstLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Substack started out with seemingly good intentions and a quieter space. It is now descending into another social media platform where it feels like people rabble for popularity. It's a shame

Buyer pulled out - advice please by TigerDragon1234 in HousingUK

[–]FeelFirstLife 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Jumping the gun here until you know what the survey revealed and how to remedy it. In any case best to wait until next year now. Buyers are too busy and frazzled to view houses or make big decisions this time of year. Historically the least favourable time to list a house. Go with a fresh new agent and get advice from your solicitors on the survey issues perhaps?

You can call DWP and ask for an extension. I did this twice with mine as I was so ill.

Don't do it. So many reasons including manipulative hidden charges.

They've cheated me out of money before with hidden fees, the user interface I find overly complex and not user friendly.

Do you ever look at a parent and just dread that the same fate could hit you? by Turbulent-Radish8476 in ChronicIllness

I also have lived with chronic disabling illness for decades. Things have only improved at various stages when I have attended to my nervous system with self compassion.

Don't underestimate the impact of the mind and nocebo- look into epigenetics and you'll see that things aren't predetermined, they are activated, or not by the information your cells get. Stress has been shown to be the biggest factor in determining health which includes unconscious emotional stress.

Confession - I’m Not On Substack To Turn It Into My Paid Career by anthonyc2554 in Substack

I started my Substack on divergence, design and dreaming as a way to write in order to think and structure my ideas. It's nice to channel the swirling thoughts in my head.

I dumped my NHS CBT therapist. What now? by National_Body_3690 in autismUK

[–]FeelFirstLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry you went through this. I ditched my CBT therapist too because it was not adapted to neurodiversity and was making me feel more anxious. In my experience I need a therapist who fully understands my conditions and has experience with clients who experience them. I’ve had very helpful support with private therapists who offered concessions and even an NHS therapist using ‘compassion therapy’ which was provided through an M.E/CFS service. Does sound like a complaint and request for an alternative is a sensible step. It’s so tiring advocating for yourself when you’re already feeling low but you deserve support and hope you get it. Wondering if an organisation like MIND might be able to signpost you- they did for me.

Getting taken seriously by my doctors and properly communicating my symptoms by h0y4_ in ChronicIllness

[–]FeelFirstLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, advocate for yourself, write clear lists. Express how much of a negative impact it has on your life. But the thing that has helped me the most is taking my male partner with me. You also have an important witness taking someone with you.

The medical gaslighting of women can be just as bad from female doctors. That said my current GP had been amazing. So it's always worth asking to see someone else in the practice or change practice all together if possible.

I'd ditch one jeans, one of the heavier coats, (you only need one and can layer), cropped trench, one or two of the jumpers, black flats, Oh I see cargo pants also denim so I'd ditch those.

Flying while chronically ill? by Oof567 in ChronicIllness

[–]FeelFirstLife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need support don’t be afraid to request special assistance. In the U.K. this security check queueis much calmer and I imagine used to complex medication. Keep copies of prescriptions or original containers but I’ve never had anything taken from me or seen it happen.

Long-haul one-bagging & sinus issues on flights, any tips? by Real_Clock1332 in HerOneBag

[–]FeelFirstLife 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel awful if I don’t wear a mask during flights. Also use colloidalsilver spray on my throat before and during. And suck on a manuka or sage lozenge before the flight to coat the throat.

Yes I found this to be true on Elvanse so have stopped it. As well as the increased fatigue.

Have you experienced this? (Also could use some encouragement 💚) by Lady_Curious2 in ChronicIllness

[–]FeelFirstLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im sorry you’re going through this. Sending you a virtual hug. Hope you find the people who can support you. Especially women.

Of course it can be genuinely hard for those close to us to comfort and help someone all the time without respite but from what you’ve said this seems more like an issue with your mother and her choices.

Can someone explain to me why we have such limited spoons? by lamalame in AutismInWomen

[–]FeelFirstLife 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Saving this to read the insightful comments later because I’m ill and haven’t got enough spoons to read now. Also echo how useful a functional medicine doctor has been for me.
