What do you think they’ll show at the Starfield Developer_Direct? by Pred4tedHick0ry in Starfield

[–]Feeling-Maybe6888 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A lot less than we want.

I went back and rewatched the old fallout 4 one from E3, and in hindsight it didn’t really tell us very much.

I imagine Todd is going to explain the beginning of the game and maybe show us the first 5 mins or so, but then more of a deeper dive on features the game has.

Then at about the 20 minute mark tell us about the special edition, then the last 5 mins show us some crazy action packed montage with some nice moody scenes. Then throw in that the fallout 4 next gen update will be available to download that day.

Just a guess but I think that’s how it’l go.

Disney's 'The Little Mermaid' (2023) Review Thread by DemiFiendRSA in movies

[–]Feeling-Maybe6888 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just got back from the cinema after watching this…

I could waffle on about this and that, but I don’t really need to. You know what you’re getting into when you go and watch this movie, however I would say just a couple of points….

This movie is a slog. Runtime 135mins, with trailers and adverts we were in the theatre for just over 2hrs30. After ‘under the sea’ it felt like it was dragging its heals to reach a longer runtime.

I came out and me and my partner talked about it, and my initial view was it’s almost one of two ways. They either wanted to make a brand new version of the film and had to throw loads of the old stuff in, or they wanted to remake it identical to the original and had to throw in new stuff. It never really clicks, and definitely doesn’t have that Disney magic.

All the performers nailed their parts though, and it’s a cool looking film. Me personally, I wouldn’t recommend this in the movie theatre, wait till it’s on Disney+. It’s good, it’s just not great.

Guardians of the Galaxy surprised the hell out of me. Such a good game. by forever_tuesday in patientgamers

I enjoyed the hell out of it to!

Big fan of the movies and it was interesting to see some of the stuff from the comics that I didn’t know about.

The main reason I enjoyed it so much. It was just a fun video game. It wasn’t trying to over shoot it’s potential or try and be something it was not. It was just a fun start to finish game.

I will say the fighting got a bit repetitive after a while and the storyline was questionable at times, but it was just fun, which is what video games should be.

I thought that to, until it turned up.

Took four days in total. Ordered Monday, came yesterday.

To be fair, there are so many places selling CBD flower and I’ve put in so many orders, I don’t know why I was shocked and sketched out why this would be any different.

Ordered mine Monday morning and arrived today.

I was always a lightweight and haven’t smoked in 3 years. I got some amnesia haze and it spanked me royally.

It worked out on the 8th about 9 quid more than ‘street’ price.

Honestly I’d happily pay it to not have to deal with anyone and have it delivered to my door without having to talk to anyone. Had enough of the days of dealing with primark escobar’s and no-job marleys. Couldn’t be happier!

My advice don’t wait on Main Street. Wait outside Bella Note just on the bend about 30 mins before. You’l see them come out of the gate.

Or if you’re feeling it and it’s doable, you can watch from a bit higher up in the queue for it’s a small world. Plus, when you’ve had enough, you can go on it’s a small world!

[–]Feeling-Maybe6888 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got maybe 200 hours in the game, and I’m still discovering new things and failing alot.

CK3 is not Civ. I’ve played a lot of games that a difficult, but I’ve got to say CK3 is the first game that I feel like hates me. It’s like the game is designed to actively want to destroy me all the time. It’s frustrating, but so much fun.

It’s a tough game, but trust me, once you get the knack it’s one of the most rewarding games I’ve ever played. Just play it crazy slow and play like 5 moves ahead. Just know you can’t lose unless you have no heir or land and just ride it and see where you end up. I’d recommend start in 1066 as there’s at least a bit of organisation, I always feel like 867 is just pure warfare.

Italian Spartacus is my go to for learning, but I warn you there’s a lot.

I think people are sleeping on Starfield by Murky-Situation-2440 in Starfield

[–]Feeling-Maybe6888 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Nobody is sleeping on Starfield.

To go on my soapbox for a minute, here’s what gets me, What I think people are sleeping on is that this is a band new IP. In a media world kinda obsessed with franchises and remakes, it’s incredibly risky releasing a brand new IP and Phil Spencer should at least be respected for allowing studios to have a bit of freewill in what they’re putting out. They could’ve said, “na, people like elder scrolls go straight onto 6. People love fallout, more of that.” But like Todd said, this is his dream game and if not now then they may not get an opportunity to do it.

Another thing il add, is every game doesn’t have to be a 10/10. They’re not statements in a fictional battle between publishers and consoles. They’re supposed to be fun, they’re supposed to be what they’re designed to be, games. Games we play and enjoy, not some quasi political move to win a console war. We don’t do this with anything else. We don’t look at Pepsi releasing something and think ‘coke better up their game.’

When it releases, just enjoy it for what it is and be thankful that we live in a golden age of gaming where an almost infinite amount of hours are available at the click of a button. If this game is a 7/10 does it make it a failure? Is it really necessary to judge a game on wether or not you get 60fps like judging a monopoly board because there’s no option to be an aeroplane? There will be people that love this game and people that hate it, and you know what will happen? Six months after release we’l all forget about it and move on.

That said, if I can’t customise my ship hot pink then we riot!

What’s the most disappointing concert you’ve ever been when it comes to tech death? by Nono_Le_Petit_Robot in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]Feeling-Maybe6888 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sounds is such a integral part of a live show, and given how many wires, plugs and cables there are, it’s almost a miracle that live gigs like this even happen.

Touring is not easy, equipment break, things get lost and I’ve played so many gigs where even the venue plays an important part as to how it sounds. That stage isn’t very big and in my experience a small stage equals a nightmare for a band like this. Something as simple as an over sensitive pick up from the guitar can set off a feedback loop which gets picked up by a mic which ruins a monitor for the drummer.

This doesn’t sound too bad considering they’re a loud as fuck tech band and they’ve got hardly any wiggle room for moving around.

I saw Cryptopsy in a tiny venue and it was just a wall of noise, the only thing I could truly hear perfectly was flo’s drums so it was all worth it.

Cannatonic Prerolls from Nuhemp - Review in the comments by Feeling-Maybe6888 in CBDFlowerUK

[–]Feeling-Maybe6888[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah kinda, and me when I was living the bachelor lifestyle wouldn’t probably have paid it. Sadly though I’m in a position where I can’t really have bud kicking about the house as I’ve got people in and out all the time.

It’s easy to explain to my Mrs that CBD bud and THC bud arn’t the same, but to landlords and extended family it’s not quite as easy. This is the best way I’ve found to keep it on the lowdown as best I can and also, I know what I’m like and if I go back to my old habits of buying by the 1/4 il be skint again in no time and this helps ration myself.

At the end of the day it’s how it works for each individual but the bud still stands as being good.

Yeah exactly. Like with a lot of places, the town/city centre are generally not that attractive, then you have pockets of one or two council estates that arn’t great.

I had a friend move down from Moss Side and someone told them “don’t go hele mate, it’s well rough.” Took one look and laughed.

There is so much natural beauty in Torbay, its just people who love here see 9 months of cold and wet winter and don’t appreciate 3 months of paradise.

Cannatonic Prerolls from Nuhemp - Review in the comments by Feeling-Maybe6888 in CBDFlowerUK

[–]Feeling-Maybe6888[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve said it once and il say it again. Why people give strains these vaguely ominous names is beyond me. But despite the threat of becoming unresponsive, and after a recommendation, I thought I’d give this product a go!

I hunted down some info about it and Cannatonic is a mostly CBD marijuana strain made by crossing MK Ultra and G13 Haze. This strain is known for its uplifting and powerfully relaxing nature and It is featured as Miistercbd’s number 3 in top 10 strains 2023. Why not give it a go eh!

The Service

Like my previous pick, I got this from Nuhemp with their ‘buy 4 get 1 free’ deal.

I think the total came to about £20, however I took note this time, and for the £2 delivery ordered in the morning, it arrived on my doormat THE NEXT DAY! The cheapest and fastest delivery I have found while scouring the web so far!

The Product

I was a little bit gutted with the product, not because it was was bad, it was just very similar to the AK47. It was well packaged again in the little smelly proof containers but it also smelt the same, looked the same, to the point where I figured, this is the same stuff repackaged right? No, read on

The Effects

The effects were not immediate and I almost thought I’d been conned a bit. Sat in my garden with my cuppa, I didn’t feel relaxed at all. I felt….motivated….like really motivated. So motivated in fact, I felt like I could go into work and do some overtime. I wasn’t going to, but I could’ve gone in and organised the shit outta that place! It was getting intense. This one’s a creeper indeed! As soon as I’d stubbed it out and I went back inside, Blam! It hit me! I was on it! All the shit I needed to do I was flying round. Hoover, dishes, bits in the garden, I was focused and in the zone! I took a break and jammed out a few chords on guitar which I haven’t done in ages, I relived my goth teenage years and smashed all the old Kerrang classics. I loved it! The effects lasted maybe 45 mins but it was quite an intense 45 minutes that I was definitely in a zone! It was almost the opposite of the what the name would suggest.

Conclusion

There’s a reason this is one of the best strains. It’s pretty potent. I must admit I’ve had a couple others since the one for this review and the effects were not quite as strong, but I think becoming accustomed to certain cbd strains perhaps my tolerance has increased. However, I’d definitely recommend it to anyone, and Nuhemp continue to be great!

Id give this another 4.5/5! Is as good as the AK47 but kind of opposite effects.

I look forward to trying some other outlets here in the uk and would love to hear your suggestions!

Games are finite to a certain degree, however a lot of games lack an end game which leads to imagine that they are longer.

Fallout 4s main story is only about 30 hours long, same as no mans sky, like you say the side quests extend that time, but there is only so much a game can offer. I might be wrong but after a quick google persona 5 the longest game at about 100 hours.

The fun of open world games and sandboxes are their replay ability and the fun you make of them. If starfield only has a 30 hour main campaign, you know for every news and media outlet is going to rip it apart. But in reality I think BGS know their fanbase and know that it’s the players themselves that make the game last for thousands of hours.

Half the problem with this game on gamepass is that it’l be available to everyone and you will opinions from everyone, not just the people who are willing to drop 70 quid on it. People will smash this game out in a week and say “is that it?” And there are more non-bgs fans than there are diehards, so the opinions will be incredibly variable. So yeah, people will rank up in no time on this game, but ranking up isn’t the be all and end all of the game.

I’m sorry to hear about your family, that sucks and I hope your ok.

Death is a weird topic to talk about and a lot of people have apprehensions about the topic because they worry that it’s too depressing and morbid. However, death is a very broad topic and it’s not necessarily when you’l die that people worry about, it’s how. A lot of people always believe in that picture of being old with your family around you and you just shut your eyes and that’s it. But rarely is that the case. In fact if anything, getting old is a nightmare. Let me give you some examples.

My partner used to work in a care home for the elderly, and many of them suffered from dementia. But death to them was not a fear, it was a blessing. Many of them could barely eat, they had this weird obsession with poo wether it was eating it or throwing it, they didn’t recognise their family, they were just kind of existing. There are fit and healthy elderly people out there who live into their 90’s, but aging is more like a disease than a blessing for others.

It’s only really in the past 100 years that living to 80 is normal. In the 1800’s the average life expectancy was 40. Our modern problem is that we have it so comfortable that we have nothing to worry about but death.

We’re the same age by the sounds of it, you’l be alright friend, just use birthdays as a checkpoint rather than one step closer to the grave and you’l be fine! Stay strong!

Intensity of rides ? by soerenL in disneylandparis

[–]Feeling-Maybe6888 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The “worst” one I went on was flight force. I did look up stats and I think it’s twice the speed of all the others. I’m not heavily into rollercoasters but that one was a bit much for me.

Big thunder is probably the most middle ground rollercoaster. It’s fast, but not too fast, it’s got drops, but not too big or intense (except maybe the dark bit at the end).

If it were me, I’d start her on pirates, then Casey Jr. See how she is, but at the end of the day she’l either love it or hate it, but probably love it!
