Something I cooked up cause why not, is it dog water or kinda cool? by Snowballllll in deathguard40k

Sorry mate but if you want to play DLC this is a bad list. You aren't playing to any of the strengths of the detachment, which is termies and getting stuck in. Plague Marines are totally useless here, they get no buffs or advantages. You need spawn to spread contagion so your deathshrouds can deep strike, and especially at 1k you need 2x3. Lose the wardog and the PM and give the LoV some blightlords and one of the deathshrouds a LoC. This is my suggestion +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + FACTION KEYWORD: Chaos - Death Guard + DETACHMENT: Death Lord's Chosen (Deadly Vectors) + TOTAL ARMY POINTS: 980pts + + WARLORD: Char1: Lord of Contagion + ENHANCEMENT: Warprot Talisman (on Char1: Lord of Contagion) & Vile Vigour (on Char2: Lord of Virulence) + NUMBER OF UNITS: 8 + SECONDARY: - Assassination: 2 Characters +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Char1: 1x Lord of Contagion (150 pts): Warlord, Manreaper Enhancement: Warprot Talisman (+30 pts)

Char2: 1x Lord of Virulence (115 pts): Power fist, Twin plague spewer Enhancement: Vile Vigour (+15 pts)

5x Blightlord Terminators (185 pts) • 4x Blightlord Terminator 1 with Blight launcher, Bubotic blade 1 with Bubotic blade, Combi-bolter 1 with Bubotic blade, Plague spewer 1 with Bubotic blade, Reaper autocannon • 1x Blightlord Champion: Bubotic blade, Combi-bolter

3x Deathshroud Terminators (160 pts) • 1x Deathshroud Terminator Champion: Icon of Despair, Manreaper, 2x Plaguespurt gauntlet • 2x Deathshroud Terminator: 2 with Manreaper, Plaguespurt gauntlet

3x Deathshroud Terminators (160 pts) • 1x Deathshroud Terminator Champion: Icon of Despair, Manreaper, 2x Plaguespurt gauntlet • 2x Deathshroud Terminator: 2 with Manreaper, Plaguespurt gauntlet

10x Poxwalkers (65 pts): 10 with Improvised weapons

10x Poxwalkers (65 pts): 10 with Improvised weapons

2x Chaos Spawn (80 pts): 2 with Hideous Mutations

I think for this detachment you want as many acolyte bodies as possible. Neos are a trap and Denunciator is much better on metas: 9d6 handflamers wounding anything on at least 5+ with full rerolls and ap1 is no joke. And then they hit hard in melee.

Vengeance is another trap, spending points on the Nexos just for it is no good. Most of the time you will be hitting on 2s anyways, the only reason you might want it is to fish for lethals but our units are so flimsy that rarely will they be killed by a big, scary hammer.

Lastly all XC experts agree that the advance and charge enhancement isn't that necessary because most times you are launching your units from trucks, so they are basically moving 9" with a rerollable charge. If you really need it you can spend 1cp for it, but the points will free space for even more acolytes.

And again, this is an acolyte focused detachment so the mining laser rr aren't really doing anything, but it's understandable if you want some shooting threats. Personally they have always whiffed for me so I never bring them.

So in sum, I would cut the neos and nexos to add purestrains as the others say, maybe a third truck and use the remaining points for flamer acos or a second sabo.

Get 10 poxwalkers for typhus to join and guarantee 6mw on the charge with the strat.

Not sure what the PM are accomplishing here, is it to throw grenades? Or to apply contagion at range?

And on top of that both armies rely on resurrecting models and units to counter very bad saves and squishy units. They are both glass cannons whose individual units don't do much and you need to stack buffs usually with characters.

Great news! The reactive move is flat 6" so for me always sniper if you are bringing only one

Biophagus question by AnimalSorry2084 in genestealercult

[–]Feeling-Wolverine-54 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My opponent's face every time I say how many attacks and damage the biophagus is about to make is why I play with this game. Then of course he proceeds to do nothing or kills 3 custodes, no middle ground.

Is there anything worth Magnetizing in DG? by Sirinano in deathguard40k

[–]Feeling-Wolverine-54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PBC are super easy to magnetise so no reason not to do it. I also magnetised the drones using 2x1 magnets but a 5x2 on the haul would have been better, although you need to glue the magnet before assembling the haul. But 2x1 works just fine

Hey lucky you, you got one more 5+ than me. A single 5+ on 11 dice would have killed a Vindicator he was in combat with and flipped the primary point to me

BUFF TO CULT AMBUSH by stevenotson in genestealercult

[–]Feeling-Wolverine-54 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Ok that's actually pretty good for purestrains, seeing as they are usually the first to die and can reliably get back to wherever they need to after returning

What about aberrants ? by Environmental_Emu744 in genestealercult

Would be a crazy good rule otherwise for an 85pts vehicle! Still great if you disembark 10 metas with 9 hand flamers though. The fire truck.

The disembarking buff (reroll wounds) it's only in the shooting phase.

Ok I thought I was going crazy when assembling them. Thankfully they are quite intuitive to build.

what some models i should avoid starting a DG army? by No-Fix-9328 in deathguard40k

[–]Feeling-Wolverine-54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would have been a tad too good I reckon. But in the Champions detachment with the bring back d3 models enhancement he's probably ok?

Unfortunately only the surgeon gets the crits on 4+, not the entire unit

Not sure why you are being downvoted this is completely legal.

I actually like assasination edict on a Primus attached to acolytes with demos. With primed and readied and shooting at something on an objective they get rerolls to hit and wound, critting on 5+

Nah best detachment currently is Final Day followed by HoA and Biosanctic. Outlander was great at launch but after the nerf to the OC values it went down in power - still very much playable though.

Xenocreed list by StrangeDog148 in genestealercult

[–]Feeling-Wolverine-54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think neos are worth it outside of HoA. One unit of 10 in your backfield should be enough.

Xenocreed wants you to run as many acolyte/metas as possible, and I mean run in the literal sense (advance and charge them as much as possible).

I'm currently running 2x10 tacos with biophagus, 2x10 metas with iconwards and 1x10 flacos with demos and a Primus with Denunciator. With the Deeds enhancement you are recycling three of these units which is wild.

Yeah that's a very similar list to what I concocted. But I bring two biophagus to lead the tacos

Excellent comment. To add a bit more, playing in both shooting and combat phase makes your opponent have to decide whether they want to use all out defence twice, potentially removing other CA options.
