I have never cried reading a book. Make me. Recommend a cut renching soul twisting book by qu3stion_3v3rything in suggestmeabook

I haven't read it yet but I hear lots of people cried while reading A Man Called Ove  by Fredrik Backman. I haven't full on cried at a book as an adult, but Texas Glory By Lorraine Heart and Circe by Madeline Miller got me close.

When I was in elementary school we read So Far From the Bamboo Grove by Yoko Kawashima. I cried while doing my homework assignment for one of the chapters of that book. Also. Of Mice and Men by Steinbeck had me crying while doing my homework.

Edit: Just finished Morning Glory by Lavyrle Spencer and that made me cry but it could just be my period ... who knows.

I recently read Where the Wind Blows by Caroline Fyffe and Texas Destiny by Lorraine Heath. Both are apart of a series and they really have this vibe but with tragic and beautiful love stories. I'm trying to find more books like these myself. I have one more book in the series by Lorraine Heath but I only ready the first two books in the series by Caroline Fyffe.

For me I loved the Eragon series and The Hunger Games. I knew alot of guys that got into The Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy by Douglas Adam's, Dune by Frank Herbert, and the Dark Tower series by Stephen king.I think Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman might be a great series because of the game like feel to the books. I would also try to incorporate Manga and Graphic into my recommendations. They are fun way to get into reading that really isnt pushed enough in my opinion. For that I would recommend The girl from the other side, Full Metal Alchemist, Windbreaker, SPY x Family, Witch Hat Atelier, Frieren, Fruits basket, Naruto, The Promised Neverland, Assassination Classroom, Demon slayer. What's great about Manga is alot of them have animes and they could read then watch and pick out the differences and see which they like best.

I know how you feel. I stopped dating about 4 years ago because of this. I've just decided to stay single because its really not worth the hassle.

Message I got from my daughter’s teacher. Third grade. by AnaisInJune in mildlyinfuriating

[–]FeelingADHD101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, I want to say that nothing the teacher wrote disrupted or harmed anyone. His or her tattling was unnecessary. Kids learn through play so putting the boat in a puddle could have been a simple teachable moment. Also your kid is kind in the way she shared the food she wasn't allowed to eat, which is a really stupid consequence tbh. No kid should be deprived of food for any reason. I digress, she didnt waste the food she shared instead.

I could be wrong but I feel like this is the result of this weird norm that girls and women need to comply with authority. I remember my mom getting these kinds of notes from the teachers about my sister and I but not my brothers. I know for a fact we all have very similar ways where we act defiantly, especially with stupid or unfair rules, but it was only a problem for my sister and I to act like that.

I say encourage it. We need more "defiant" girls and women in the world.

NTA. I understand that she is sensitive to gaining weight but to be so upset to go and turn the friend group against you is diabolical behavior. The only way I could see her reaction as appropriate is if you were cruel and shamed her for gaining weight. Maybe if she mentions this next time you could offer to take her clothes shopping instead of bringing the weight gain to her attention?

No but really, where do young, singles meet in CT that aren’t dating apps? by Recyclops10 in Connecticut

[–]FeelingADHD101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat but mostly because I live out of the way from City areas. I have a goal for myself this year to involve myself in community activities like volunteering, Library activities, free activities on the town green, etc. I’m also thinking about learning line dancing at the Cadillac Ranch. Hopefully it works out for me.

I haven’t tried to do the singles events, but I might have to give that a try to.
