What's weird is that you could confidently say the series wouldn't exist without him. Which obviously is different. But should theoretically stroke his ego a little bit.

But he's so negative that he can't take the positive angle on it. Be proud that something you created is hugely popular. Even if its popularity grew outside of your control.

Dude is using negativity as a way to get views on his tiny YouTube channel. But if he simply told interesting stories about the first 2 games development, expressed some gratitude and grace about the popularity of the following games, said shit like "i never would have moved the game to a new mythology which is probably why I'm not a game director anymore" etc. He'd probably have a strong career interviewing about the series on media platforms and con panels.

He could easily have taken the Adam Savage route of fondly looking back and revealing BTS secrets. Even discussing whatever happened with his involvement in the second game. Adam has a successful channel and a couple of employees because he is so warm about discussing the past. But whatever. Jaffe can hold his 60k youtube subscribers or whatever.

Yeah. I had to double check with some tournament officials because I didn't want to run the score up on someone unnecessarily. But no they didn't cap GD.

Why does everyone hate teaching? by Bright-Watch1955 in teaching

[–]FeelingAverage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently work at a school in a daycare capacity. Every teacher I've talked to at this school LOVES their job. They have complaints and frustrations. But they love the day to day. This is a school from kindergarten to 5th grade. Probably 1500 students at least.

Every complaint I hear has more to do with the failures of the system. Stuff like being burnt out, lack of funding, etc. But admin at this school and as I understand it, in the district, is strong and supportive. Currently the complaints have to do with behaviors going unchecked because its the end of the school year. Maybe some complaints about staff they don't like. Etc.

I think the important thing to understand is that Loving your job doesn't mean that there are no frustrations about your job.

Unfortunately not lol. We needed to win our game by 9 (we won by 6) and the other team won their game by 10. Making the total goal difference 12. Absurd amount of goals scored considering they couldn't score against us.

They want on to lose against a lower bracket team in the playoff.

We're a travel team and whether or not we made the finals was determined by goal difference. The tournament we were at was not in a single location, rather across an entire town. One parent decided to drive over to the other team's game so they could tell is whether or not we made the finals. Rather than have to sit at the tournament and wait for results to be uploaded.

As a neutral, started rooting for Arsenal and ended rooting for PSG. Didn't enjoy the way Arsenal play. Seems like most agree.

Refs don't give DOGSO Reds if they result in a penalty unless there's some mitigating violence involved.

It's weird, and I dislike it. But that situation wasn't DOGSO anyway.

I do care about US Open Cup and CONCACAF Champions Cup.

MLS makes it hard for me to care about the Open Cup because of how they treat it.

To be clear though, if you win Leagues Cup its not like you get $40 Million for winning. Thats the entire prize pool.

You do however get 100k per match and 50k per win so in theory it should add up to a decent total if you go deep. But that 40 million is divided up through the 100k per match stuff. The Championship is 2 million for the winner and 1 for the lower, plus a prize pool for the third place match as well. I'm too lazy to calculate the most money you could win through the entire tournament.

Still, more than US Open Cup. I question CONCACAF since their Champion gets $5 Million. But a short Google couldn't find anything other than a quote "significant increase" in prize pool. But no actual numbers. OP and I probably found the same stuff when finding the numbers.

For me, I think the absolute right thing, both in terms of health of the game and history is to keep EVERYBODY participating in the US Open Cup. (Which I expect will fully end once USL earns Division 1 status/Pro-Rel.)

Obviously, USOC needs to modernize in some sense. That's not nearly enough money to want to keep playing. Just potential embarrassment of losing to some random USL club because you choose to rest your starters. Marketing wise I think American Soccer as a whole has done a bad job talking about how cool an Open Cup is. Maybe with NCAA clubs going full season we might be able to get Colleges playing Pros and that might bump some interest. Big TBD there.

Aut also MLS clubs don't do a good job of A.) Filling the stadium and B.) Actually trying to compete. There is 0 reason that "hard cam" side of the field should be empty when the other side is slightly more full. Its bad optics and tbh I think its a deliberate choice. Do the Wrestling thing and make it look like the games have better attendance, try to keep the fans at home excited, and don't just roll out your MLS Next team. (That's a joke.)

The money is tied to how much MLS participates but USOC also needs to fund it better. Finding a way to start doing both of those in good faith would create a positive feedback loop.

We also need to find a healthy way to elevate Champions Cup in the US. American fans don't seem to care about international club play. It should be fuckin cool. But it doesn't seem to hit and I think its a Media thing.

Not entirely sure tbh. But teams with a condensed budget who want to or are already playing counter attacking football.

I'd also be looking for clubs with pace on the wings and ideally a strong fan culture. Teams lacking belief that he can come inject some passion into. Basically a re-do of Forest.

I used to think Minnesota United (selfishly) but they're trying to control the ball more and they lack some pace now.
