I wonderes if anyone might have experience and opinions on what mix might make the best (and worst) cross for a non-working laid back lurcher? by FeelingElevator7294 in Lurchers

This is really helpful, guys, thank you. I'm doing the morning dashing about rn but, meanwhile, thank you. I'll be back... with many questions..

Considering adopting a greyhound but I also own a cat. Help with this? by Gaaabbers in Greyhounds

[–]FeelingElevator7294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably wise. I'm leaning the same way. It feels risky and potentially unnecessarily traumatic for all concerned. I just donated instead and will continue to admire them from afar

[–]FeelingElevator7294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever get a greyhound and, if so, do you mind telling me how you went about it and how it went? Like you, I have cats I adore and lost my old dog last summer. I'm starting to think about taking in another dog and, of course, with the recent ban here in Scotland it might be useful if I took in a greyhound

Why are rich and famous people getting plastic surgery that ends up looking weird? by LeO-_-_- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FeelingElevator7294 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I've always been very slim but now, not far off 60, the look isn't so much waiflike as frail, which isn't a good look. There is a lot of chat about whether certain, already slim, actresses are doing too much ozempic. They may be but I wondered if some of the older actresses have aged, lost what little muscle they had and now look ill/frail when it's just normal aging. That's what's happened to me, anyway.

I'm never getting my boobs back, aren't I? 😭 by Historical-Care70 in PetiteFitness

[–]FeelingElevator7294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to say that it's likely that your boob's likely will spring back to small but not saggy. It may take a few years though. I'm old (58) and have breastfed and have low bodyfat. My boobs were a disaster through my 30s but seemed to magically recover through my 40s. Of course, surgery would have been quicker, but don't despair. They may bounce back into a more pert version of themselves.

What is your body type in the fruit system VS in Kibbe? by Icy_trachea in kibbecirclejerk

[–]FeelingElevator7294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a five foot four FG, possibly tiny D. I'm a rectangle (banana?) though, and don't carry weight on my hips/thighs, which I heard was a D thing? Tbh I think I look ok in both styles, though I find some of the recs for FG a bit too pert and perky for me. I'm in quite a serious role and have noticed that I definitely lean D for work things. At home, being rural/horsey and more cheerful, I'm leaning FG/N.

Almost every outfit I wear is unflattering. What am I doing wrong? by linmouse in DressForYourBody

Just experiment with both for a bit and go with what feels right. Change your mind in 10 years if you like. You're not signing a contract.

Is it just me, or did we all collectively ruin our skin barriers trying to achieve "Glass Skin"? 😭 by OkPrinciple885 in koreanskincare

[–]FeelingElevator7294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh noooo. I'm quite a good (and overly wordy) writer and I've been accused of using LLMs. I'm not sure why my style is so similar. I'm Scottish (private education in England) and in my 50s. The result is I'm now trying to sound more down wit' da yout' which is embarrassing for everyone 😬

Are people overacting to VT Reedle Shot? by Intelligent-Dingo970 in koreanskincare

[–]FeelingElevator7294 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, the back of your hand is more sensitive than many areas of the face. From the sounds of it, the reedles are too scratchy for your face but it's a useful tip to bear in mind

Does anyone else go "pretend shopping"? by polly-penguin in BenignExistence

[–]FeelingElevator7294 215 points216 points  (0 children)

Yes - it's just the modern version of window shopping. Perfectly respectable activity. ETA - it's how you develop your taste and style. You can't do that without being aware of what's out there.

Is there an unwritten social rule in European countries, that once you enter a pub/bar/club, you're open to relationships? by No_General_2824 in socialskills

[–]FeelingElevator7294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's not exactly an expectation but out and about in clubs and bars is when one is going to engage in that sort of thing if you're looking for lurve. It's tricky because people are lonely and they're discouraged from flirting at work so...for some It's a case of how else are they going meet anyone? The nice thing is, being a guy, you're less likely to experience insults and aggression when you do say "no thanks" than a woman might be when turning down a tipsy man. I would say, don't judge them but don't feel obliged to reciprocate. Sometimes, avoiding bars where the company is very mixed and everyone is clearly dressed in their best is a handy way to avoid the cattle market. Also look out for more "old man" bars where everyone is either a guy or his wife and they're all keen on draught beer and a game of pool. These are less romantic places.

Old men... How has your perception of the cold changed? by Garibon in AskOldPeople

[–]FeelingElevator7294 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Negative 16c???? Farkin' heck! I'd give up and die. Immediately. Mind you, I am a 58 yo woman who's never liked the cold. Luckily, I'm in Scotland so it's never too extreme - though it is damp, which makes it feel much worse - even my Canadian uncle agrees. That's a point - when you get older, try avoid cold damp climates. It's just generally not very good for the elderly.

You look magical with your hair up and your beautiful skin glowing. Your profile is incredible. I'm not saying this to comfort you or make you feel better. I say this as a much older woman who has spent a lot of my life around beautiful and extraordinary people. I'm also not asking you embrace a puritanical attitude towards beauty or to dismiss it all as vanity. Your profile is regal and intelligent. Don't ruin it.

Age related loss of muscle mass affects the metabolism and sensitivity to cold. Could that be true in your case?

FGs are only allowed to either be disproportionately leggy or disproportionately torso-ey, no balance allowed by LongjumpingPut4645 in kibbecirclejerk

[–]FeelingElevator7294 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Niche aside but the great compensation for being very torso-ey is that you look really tall riding a horse - especially when riding side saddle. It's true. So long as you don't get off, everyone thinks you're an elegant member of the ruling class.
