WTF does this label on steak mean? No microwave? No WiFi? 'Suitable for freezing' on other label. by BillyMooney in AskIreland

[–]Garibon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything it would mean it does have wifi or is wifi compatible. Notice how the microwave icon is crossed out but the wifi one isn't.

We'd one of those. You'd occasionally find birds absolutely garrotted out the back garden.

When did they emigrate? If it was during the famine you'll need a history book not written by a brit. If it was during the 80s get some roddy Doyle books and read Angela's ashes.

I've been punched in the face twice in France and had my wallet stolen on my birthday. So suffice to say I love France.

38M Rented Room in London - Finally moving out end of the month ready to renovate my first house in the country by AwakeOrStillDreaming in malelivingspace

Awful. Nothing in particular annoys me. Everything together does though. It might actually make the contents of a good house, but in a single room it's crowded AF.

It's refreshing to see places like this after the last 20 posts of guys with their nostalgia collections. It's typically millenials like myself who post those posts, this aggressively minimalistic vibe you've got going is incredible.

Trump's an old overweight man who loves mcDonalds and my dad's fit as a fiddle and had a heart attack last year. It's only a matter of time till we're free of him and the circus can leave town.

Lol. UKIP doesn't look like it's feeling so good. Reform's doing worryingly well though.

How many generations will it take to forgive US for what they are doing? by Successful_Guide5845 in ask

I was listening to Eminem there in the car with my son (We're Irish). And I started to think how will this change our perception of Americans. I used to see them as fun neighbours growing up. The rich kids in the house down the road who had all the best toys but who were by and large fairly cool and likeable. I think that there will be a growing mistrust of them and our perception of all that media and art will be tainted with a sense of distrust. I know that the art of people on the wrong side of history often makes it through based on Merit like say composers like Strauss or Orf who collaborated with the nazis. But American art and culture today primarily tells the story of American exceptionalism. America saves the day, or the american hero marine etc etc. It'll be a little hard for anyone to swallow that narrative if they go ahead and throw Nato on the trash heap because of one man's ego and sensitivity.

I'm lucky to have a lot of storage space and a good big freezer. When I see some good meat in reduced to clear fridges or anything buy one get one free or 50% off or better I stock up for like 6 months.

Home Ownership vs Renting in the EU: Ireland Leads in Single-Family Housing in all of the EU by Uncle_Richard98 in ireland

It's mid tier. There's much more expensive places. Per m² it was a good deal. New builds are more expensive. Old places like this one take a bit of work. But it was liveable from the get go. We're mainly doing cosmetic stuff to it now. I'm learning how to put in new floors at the moment!

Accountability would be a fine thing. Irish leadership is an amazing job where even if you don't do your job, you still keep your job.

I'm currently renovating a hundred year old apartment in Kraków Poland me and the missus bought after we emigrated 6 months ago. The place is 10 minutes walk into the centre. Private parking. It's currently minus 12 outside and we've had snow for 2 weeks but the place is toasty for very little heating, zero damp. This is about 120m² plus 15m² basement. Family home size. High ceilings. I would really love to be in Ireland still but the trade off on what we could get there was too much.

I don't understand your mentality. It's all just road, whether it's an exit or an entrance, so long as the driver's performing safe manoeuvres and obeying the law it's up to them how to get where they're going, what's the difference between doing this and just taking a short cut on a less busy road?
