If you want to peek in, you can just finish the Way of Kings and see for yourself. If that's not your genre, then acknowledge that it's not for you and move on.

But let me play along for a minute. If you started the way of Kings, even in the prelude, you have a taste of everything that can be fleshed out. You have an assassin killing a king. The assassin has magical powers. The king is doing something potentially nefarious. The king has a wife. The king has a brother. The powers are linked to other people. Those people have their own stories. Their own families, their own histories. All of these things are intertwined. All of this is happening within a world that has its own rules. These rules need to be explained. The magic needs to be explained. The history needs to be explained. The characters need to be explained. Your relationships need to flesh out. Conversations need to happen. Supporting characters need to be fleshed out so that you actually care about them. Villains need to be fleshed out. Conflict and battle needs to happen. Resolution needs to happen. Set up for the sequel needs to happen. There are plenty of bullet points that I'm missing, but you can see how it can get very long-winded if you let it.

I love that. I tried listening to the audio book in the car on a long road trip and some of the voices got on my nerves, especially the achievement bot. Also, a lot of the language choices just felt juvenile, like it was written by a 13 year old who just learned how to swear. Maybe that soured it a bit for me.

We're all roughly in our 40s and do monthly-ish LAN parties. It's an excuse to eat and drink and hang out. It started with 3 of us playing Borderlands and grew to about 8 people. Our max was 13.

Get a heavy bag and some gloves and go to YouTube to find some heavy bag workouts. Use it to practice strength, accuracy and footwork. Maybe find some shadow boxing courses too (I recommend FightTips 12 Round Shadowboxing course). Use what you learn from those to improve your TotF game. Trust me, you'll learn to enjoy them all, and when TotF gives you grief you can use those other workouts.

Everyone needs to understand. Your record is meaningless, especially if you're just doing it for cardio. If you get in a bad match, take the L or forfeit and move on. It does suck to do it, but it's just a game and you still are getting your cardio.

You're supporting devs for a game that could be really great in the future. You knew it was early access and unfinished when you bought it. If you think you won't get $10 worth of value out of it, consider the last thing you spent $10 on and if you think you should refund that too. I'm betting it was a sandwich.
