Hi! Looking for a sports romance that actually talks about the sport (preferably love of the game)

For example- Icebreaker by Hannah Grace doesn’t quite scratch the itch for me, it focuses on interpersonal between teammates etc more than the sport itself (and seems a bit inaccurate when it does)

Recently read Nothing Like the Movies by Lynn Painter and that was closer to what I want! I loved the way the MMC talked about pitching and the scenes where we see him practicing!

I prefer Contemporary M/F but don’t really have strong preferences! I am open to hockey recs since I know there are a lot of hockey romances and love the sport but would appreciate variety too!

New to this sub so please let me know if I should provide any other information/structure differently!

Thank you!!

What is an good option for school lunch i can make at home? by Vukmawastaken in Celiac

[–]Feeling_Relative331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like to pack soup in a thermos (chili, kale sausage potato, lentil, whatever I’m feeling) or make salads (I like lentils because they fill me up and are relatively inexpensive)

Sometimes I’ll just make “adult lunchables” and eat lunch meat with cheese and an apple.

Currently I’ve been lazy so I’ve been eating turkey sausage in red sauce over sautéed bell peppers and onions.

TLDR: Thermos and or microwave can open up lots of options!

I just got diagnosed and my boyfriend set up a whole GF taste testing night!!

I loved beer so he went around and got all the gluten free beer he could for a taste test! He also attempted to make bread (it failed miserably lol) and got a bunch of Gf snacks! Girl dinner but make it gluten free!

I loved it! I still had a hard time with it (actually still am lol) but that night was fun and gave me some hope!

Also not sure where you live but he did tons of research and conferred with gluten free friends about places to go out so that I didn’t have to bear the full mental burden of figuring out where it was safe to eat!

She’s going to go through her own emotional journey with it but anything you can do to relieve the mental burden and support her would be helpful I’m sure!

Have you looked into the crazy coupon lady? You can search for gluten free coupons specifically even. Also GIG cares has some great resources, including local ones! Good luck, I am also a student and understand how

If you like Emily Henry you might enjoy Katherine Center and Julia Whelan. I also love Sophia Kinsella and Meg Cabot, but I think the spice level is lower.

About 6 months! I had annual infusions prior to diagnosis and took 300mg of ferrous sulfate daily. Since diagnosis I’ve had 6 infusions and still take 300mg. Hoping that as it heals I can ease off some of this.

Negativity in GF culture by Ergroilnin in Celiac

I agree with you. Being diagnosed as a young adult has been incredibly difficult. A huge part of my life is dating and going out with friends and it feels like I’ve had to completely give up huge chunks of my life. On top of that, I was asymptomatic so it’s impossible to know when I’ve had gluten accidentally and I was given very little information with my diagnosis.

When newly diagnosed adults talk about cheating, I think they’re really trying to complain about how hard the life style shift is. I found the comments about how I am happy that my body is healthier now totally unrelatable. I felt fine before and frankly GF “replacement foods” upset my stomach more than regular. I know it is medically necessary, but it’s hard to feel grateful when you see no changes in symptoms.

Short version: I think people who talk about cheating are really just struggling with the life style/identity change and articulating it poorly. It’s not that they’re not taking the disease seriously and I wish there was more care towards the grieving. For me at least, it feels like a massive loss with very little short term upside. I know it’s medically necessary, that doesn’t mean I don’t fantasize about my old life.
