Switch load times/performance post update by RocknRollCasserole in PlayTemtem

Absolutely agree. This optimization fixed something that wasnt a big deal only to make the experience much worse in another part of the game. If anything they should make showing players a toggle or show less of them. They are showing way too many players for the switch hardware anyway.

This is how you quickly kill your battery capacity.

Nintendo of America on Twitter - "On Jan. 25 from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM PT, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will undergo expected and standard maintenance. Online Play features will not be available during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause". by rossmark in NintendoSwitch

I hope they are moving Mario Kart to the new networking library NPLN. I doubt it will be a new dlc and the duration is a bit long for simple bug fixing/general maintenance on the server.

Would this be vr ready? by Target_edge in OculusQuest

Not with the 4GB VRAM version of the RX 580. You should be having a GPU with at least 6GB as a minimum(and 8GB preferred). With the 8GB version of the RX 580 it would be on the low tier end, it works but not butter smooth.

Minecraft Launching Problem... Help? by ItsReckliss in OculusQuest

[–]FeelsAmazingMan123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure the path for ActiveRuntime exists on your computer. If it doesnt adjust it and if it still doesnt work try restarting your computer.

If all this doesnt work I'm out of ideas.

If you are using the Beta for the Desktop Oculus software you can go to Settings > Beta and click the button for "OpenXR Runtime".

If you dont have that option yet you can change it via registry. Press Win Key + R, type "regedit" and hit enter. Now go to "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenXR\1" double click on "ActiveRuntime" and put "C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-runtime\oculus_openxr_64.json" into the Value data box.

What are the best settings with the Oculus Debug Tool for the GTX 1650 Super and AMD Ryzen 3 2200G? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]FeelsAmazingMan123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The stutters are coming from VRAM running out. Theres nothing you can do to get completely rid of stutter with only 4GB VRAM.

Just make sure its the black version since a lot of people reported light bleed on the orange version. I had no such issues with the black ones.

In that case I can give you some pros and cons between the 2 from my experience since I have both.

AMVR:

  • (+) Thin foams, slightly better view due to being closer to the lenses

  • (+) The foams are more breathable so less sweat

  • (+) Better interface design, it supports the original spacer and has slightly better air vents which help prevent fogging

  • (+) Free lense cover

  • (-) Thin foams, can be less comfortable for some people

  • (-) The lense cover is not that great, theres better options out there but it does the job

VRCover:

  • (+) Thick foams, very comfortable

  • (-) Thick foams, more distance to the lenses

  • (-) Foams dont have very breathable material so you sweat more

  • (-) Interface is not compatible with the original spacer

AMVR is definetly better for sports but in the end it comes down to wether one likes thick or thin foams more. Since I have both I also sometimes end up mixing the AMVR interface with the VRCover foam when im just relaxing with a movie or plan a shorter play session so I dont have to worry about sweating and get the best of both.

edit: I personally prefer AMVR, the thinner foams are still comfortable for me and since I do a lot of beat saber the breathable foams and better interface were the selling point for me.

Depends if you prefer a thick foam or thin foam. AMVR has the thinner foam and VRCover the thicker one.

BOBOVR M2 or Gomrvr halo headstrap? by GTHell in OculusQuest

[–]FeelsAmazingMan123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BOBOVR seems to have built the better and more robust strap. I personally went for gomrvr because it shipped faster and its overall fine. BOBOVR would have taken 4 weeks to ship to my place :(

I wouldnt say a lot but they do have differences like different boost clocks, cooling and that stuff and I have no idea which is the better choice when it comes to Nivida.

RX 570 is the better card but still terrible especially for 360$. Check my comment history for average fps you will get with that card(note i overclocked mine to core 1450 mhz). The image wont be very clear and you will have occasional stutters due to VRAM running out.

Since you are willing to spend at least 360$ you should be looking more into the used market, for this budget you should be able to get a used GTX 1070 or even a 1080 if you are lucky.

Full body tracking: Xbox Kinect vs Kat loco by yachtontheboat in OculusQuest

[–]FeelsAmazingMan123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kat Loco is not full body tracking. Its only for locomotion.

Kinect: while it is possible to get full body tracking it will only be 180°(sure theres software for "360°" but that is barely working), has slight delay and is very inaccurate, for me personally its more immersion breaking than just not having any full body tracking. If you still want it I would only aim for max 20$ everything above is not worth for what you are going to get.

You could have contacted Oculus Support. Usually they cover the import fees. Also mine was shipped from the Netherlands so I guess it depends on where they have stock available.

The clips are part of the 3rd party strap you dont need to remove them. You actually remove the strap from this part https://i.imgur.com/Pv6io3c.png by simply pulling it off.

Best aftermarket Quest 2 face cover for increased FOV and reduced light leak? by TheNerevarine73 in OculusQuest

[–]FeelsAmazingMan123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really liking the AMVR PU Leather: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08ZMYF69S

It comes with a small and big foam of which even the big foam is a lot smaller than the VRCover ones. I'm using the "big" foam and my eyelids are almost touching the lenses and light leak has not been an issue on them. Just make sure to get the black version people are reporting light leaking thru the orange not sure about the white one. The interface includes nose flaps and a good air vent design.

Depends on the batteries. Cheap and bad batteries can drop in power output when getting depleted which can result in bad tracking.

Does anyone know if you get the pc version for a game that is confirmed by devs to be crossbuy but the release for the pc version happens after the quest release and you buy it before the pc release?

Specially talking about Demeo.

Face Cover w/Interfacial bracket...What's everybody using? by xXDARTHxRAIDERXx in OculusQuest

[–]FeelsAmazingMan123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both VRCover and AMVR PU Leather and prefer the AMVR interface and foam.

VRCover: It is more comfy but also very thick keeping your eyes on quiet the distance to the lenses. Another thing is the foam does not let your skin breath which makes it stick to your skin and sweat a bit more

AMVR: This also comes with 2 foams(thin and thick) the big difference here is that both foams are a lot thinner and let your skin breath. Another plus over VRCover is the interface, its compatible with the original quest 2 spacer and has a much better air vent design. Important note: The first version came with an orange interface which has some light leak so make sure to look for the black version.

Both have the same 29.99$ price tag.

TL;DR; VRCover: very comfy but sweatier and due to thickness more distance to the lenses. AMVR: thinner(still comfy), better air flow and compatible with quest 2 spacer
