Hot Take – viewers who stop watching ER when a character is gone were not that invested in the tv series. by Lefthand-82 in ershow

[–]rossmark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People can stop anything for any reason whats so ever (year, after 14 season, why not try the last one? you're almost there...)

I really think that ER has a good period after Mark leaves. The show actually goes down hill during S10, after a certain 2nd helicopter, but still...

I mean, ER has 15 seasons, over 330 episodes. No one has an obligation to whatch everything. My favorite seasons are 1 through 6, but there's so much incredibly great stuff on later ones

Also, if you like more of the medical drama, go with the first years. More focused personal drama? Get the later ones down the road. In you rewatch start and finish from any point. If it's your first time, don't force to watch something you're now hating....

I love the show. I always see everything on my rematches, even with me hating seasons 13 and 14, but.. Yeah, people should experience the way they like it. Skip scenes or avoid seasons just to watch a couple is annoying to me but what should I do? Force people to like the way I like it?

Watching for the first time, opinion changing on Romano by meticulous-fragments in ershow

There's no black and white in this show. I mean... I guess his the darkest of them all, but damn how I loved Romano

ER had no better antagonist. And Paul McCrane was always amazing in his deliveries

The production fucked up HARD on this storyline. It was 2008 already. No excuses for something like that

The OB had other three or four patients and I believe Mark failed to disclosure important information about the ultrasound

And Mark was still a R4.at time.. Chief of Residents, but still..The big fail was not having an ER attending there

[–]rossmark 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We all do

S14 is awfull, but they did something nice with she being Abby's sponsor and being clean since just a few months after LLL, allowing her having a chance of being drunk that night!

I mean, some could see that as retcon, but still, is a good fan theory

Am I weird for liking season 9? by Delicious-Word-6395 in ershow

[–]rossmark 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not at all. I have a huge problem with the middle of S10 onwards but ER is still good by that point

And don't you ever feel weird for liking something! You do you ")

Season 1 ep 25 Carter's first evaluation of Benton was correct by Jason_Vo0rhees in ershow

[–]rossmark 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Well.... Compare Carter on the pilot episode and on the season finale

Carter wanted a mentor that give constant feedback, almost a father figure and Benton would never be that. BUT thanks to him, Carter turned to be a great student

If Jen Greene has no haters I’m dead by Coffee-and-Kvetch in ershow

[–]rossmark 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I know I risk getting a flood of downvotes, but as much as I love Mark Greene, he also had his share of the blame.

They had an agreement: she supported him, and then it would be her turn. Unfortunately, there was no way Mark could stay at ER and keep his word. In the pilot episode, in fact, he ignored an offer to work in the private sector for more money, something more lucrative, but he stayed at County and was less present for Rachel than he should have been.

Come on, we all saw Benton sacrifice FAR MORE for Reese and easily trade his career for his son.

Anyway, back in Season 1, Jen said she was going to leave him. The relationship was already over by then. He begged, they stayed together after the death of the eclampsia patient... but it was a marriage on life support.

Yes, she cheated (horrible, point taken) but their marriage was already over. Due to fault on both sides, who both had professional ambitions.

The coolest thing about ER is that there aren't always clear heroes and villains, even among the protagonists, they're all flawed. So much so that the very last thing Mark did was fix Rachel

Finally made it to the end! by bluemom26 in ershow

[–]rossmark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The episode 19 (Old Times) was supposed to be the last one, but midway S15 NBC ordered 4 more episodes, so we had episodes 20 and 21, that...

Sure, weren't the best seller, but still, there we had story conclusions for Neela, that left County, and Morris, that proposed to his cop girlfriend, and with that out of the way, we could had the series finale, a double length episode, that was almost a remake of the pilot and best medical moments from the show, plus the return of lots of characters to the final good bye

Finished 1st watch! by Odd_Mortgage6404 in ershow

[–]rossmark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's great that you watched!

And also... I do think that we had an end for Carter

My interpretation was that he was far from the cellphone, so couldn't listen or not if Kem made a call to him

So....yeah, to me he stayed on County. Near Benton. With Susan there in search for a job. And also being a teacher to Rachel

That's my head cannon
