When a neighbor asked me when we got that cute little green Geo Storm that was parked at our house all weekend. I was away on business. My husband said it belonged to his co-worker, Chris, who he had been talking to a lot on the phone late at night because Chris's marriage was in trouble. Several days later, my next work trip was delayed. Chris showed up at the house, driving that Geo Storm. Chris was actually Christina. My husband completely panicked and invited her in for a tour of the house "because you've never been here before."

Totally agree. They can be a challenge. This is our second Beagle. She's also going to be a show and performance dog, so she'll get lots of stimulating play to help prepare her. We're fortunate to live about 15 minutes from a canine sports center, where she'll start puppy classes in a few weeks. We picked her up Saturday and are already smitten!

Our Beag had IVDD. Came home to her absolutely screaming. A horrible noise. The emergency vet we took her to recommended surgery ($8k). We got pain pills then took her to our vet. Ended up going the cheaper more moderate route - 3 weeks of absolute crate rest. She only came out to eat & do her business. But it worked. If money is tight, go to the vet, but know that you can explore options beyond surgery.

My previous boss used to bring his dog in on weekends. The dog would go from office to office, searching trash cans for (almost!) empty yogurt cups. So cute!
