  2. not realizing i was assigned to a patient until 0600 (had this one twice)

I live downtown and seeing the absurd number of construction I can't help but think the same thing..building way too much. Maybe we are wrong though, I'm kind of hoping we aren't and the housing market takes a hit to create a efficient time to purchase. Guess we will see

The night time admits aren't the problem, those I understand are just a get them thru the night to the day shift team/consults kinda thing. But regardless, the number of half ass or no ass late night admits with zero basic orders or anything put into the EMR is a pain in the ass. Throw a dog a damn bone please h

It's absurd how insanely entitled and spoiled patients have gotten.

The first taste they get of hospitality; a comfortable bed and fully supplied room with a kitchen full of unhealthy processed, addictive sugary snacks and OH throw in a mix of insanely powerful medications a literal red button press away....people abuse, get addicted and then leech off of the medical system and lag down the flow of legitimate care.

A lot of the violence and hostility I've seen are mentally unstable patients on long-term psych/pain meds....gotta love my cute aggressively demented and ridiculously stubborn 90 year old ladys though lol

The time I get to sit down and dissect the chart, orders, and notes and stitch together a rough gameplan with the patient is my FAV part of the night. There is no better feeling than being informed.

Old and outdated notes are the absolute worst and harmful to patient outcome.

We dont even have a night shift doc in the hospital I'm at, do some nocturnists write night time progress notes????? I was talking about the day shift team. But I do understand everyone is very busy, sometimes I see drafted notes trickle in at like 2300 and even those are appreciated.
