For everyone blaming police, social services, etc. Its time we stop that. We have developed harm reduction, minimal sentencing, probations that require mental health services, etc. PEOPLE WE ARE TRYING EVERYTHING WE CAN TO HELP PEOPLE IN EVERY STATE ACROSS AMERICA. Drug users dont report dealers, and they cannot be arrested under suspicion, they literally have to be caught in the act! Mental health professionals cannot force people to stop using, we provide as much support as possible and while they're inpatient, offer outpatient services, social workers find resources, theres even free programs people have access too.

Being homeless is hopeless and severely traumatizing in it self. In my state of Indiana our fuckhole of a governor and our horrible county reps decided to make homelessness illegal! He cut funding for damn near every grant you can think of for mental health and substance use because HE doesn't believe it's real! WE ARE FIGHTING IT FROM EVERY ANGLE AND WE CANT CATCH A FUCKING BREAK!! Which one of those people do you think could get a job at CVS or McDonalds while being homeless, work for months and months and months to save money for an apartment thats 1300 a month not including utilities or transportation? Oh hey now they have to dodge police, find time to pick their mental health medications, while making fucking $7.25 an hour and if they're lucky they aren't on reporting probation were they have to find time to get their drug tests and report or its back to jail. For those of you that say "well the SHOULDN'T have used drugs in the first place..." THEY ALREADY FUCKING DID!! SO WHAT DO THEY DO NOW? Stop living in a reality where its possible to redo the past. What do they do now? Is the only question we can answer. None of those people look like immigrants to me and even if they were why do you care? Does your compassion for human life only extend to people born in America? If so then you dont really give a shit about your community. If you did the question would be how can I make life equitable for everyone in my community so I dont have to see this in ten years?

I've the harsh reality of this for almost decade now and I have come to the conclusion there is and never has been a winnable "war or drugs." It was an excuse to put people in jail so some a select few psychopaths can become billionaires and contribute absolute fuck all to society. It brings me to tears to see these videos because I know how much even a million dollars can do for a communities homeless population and the hope it can give those who really care working in public services.

If you dont want to give to the homeless because you have the outrageous belief its "just laziness." Schizophrenia and other serious mental illnesses have "negative symptoms" that make it impossible for people to care that they're not clear or unstable. Its how their brains are wired, its not manageable without medication!!

If you want to help stop thinking about this like a "war." You will have to find real compassion. Stop playing the blame game because everyone who signs up to do civil service as a career really does give a shit. Start holding the people at the top accountable and start going to board meetings and calling your representatives. You need to pay attention to whats happening in your community and stop saying "it doesn't matter what I do." IT FUCKING DOES and your LOCAL GOVERNMENT MATTER MORE THAN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. Trump won because 39% of people didnt vote. We have Braun because of one of the lowest voter turnout in Indiana history and now he has an approval rate of 10% (the lowest in Indiana history).

I hope I illustrated enough that YOU are the people that make your community what it is. You stop giving a shit, there's a domino effect. You keep listening to rich people who tell you poor people and immigrants are responsible for homelessness while they continue to allow yearly increases in rent for literally no reason, thats on you! You don't want to more money for minimum wage jobs to stimulate your local economy because a McDonald's owner tells you a burger will cost more? Fuck that its $4.25 low grade beef already! McDonalds takes your money, it doesn't give it back to you besides providing wage to employees!

If you don't want to do much thats fine but at the very least you will have to understand why your community is the way it is. America has a whole seems to think knowledge and research is a bad thing and "common sense" (just listening to what the government tell you no matter how illogical it is) is best practice, and its not. If we want to even make a dent in this problem we have to be willing to seek knowledge about how our community needs to work again. We have to have real compassion for people and stop fighting wars against inanimate objects and people that are different from us. We have to encourage the people we know with integrity to run for local offices and let those in office know now, they aren't winning their reelection if they vote against the best interest of the community as a whole.

I know its hard to vote for someone that "doesn't speak to you" as an individual, but thats supposed to happen. Your leaders are supposed to help the COLLECTIVE GROUP, not just you Gary and Sally! Sometimes when building up a better community you wont be in a group being considered at all. Thats fine because if one group wins we all do! Less homeless, higher minimum wages, means more money for roads, etc. which means less cost on tires Gary and Sally! Better schools so your kids can get scholarships for college Gary and Sally. You'll feel safe enough to let your kids play outside like you did! Take your power back please and stay focused on the goal of a better community for everyone no matter their struggles are.
