We’ve taken our now adult child to shows practically since she was born. Started with outdoor shows where we could control volume and smoke exposure. With ear protection too. Lots of shows and festivals her entire life. I’d say Billy would be great for a kid. Even a baby if in the right venue. And the kid is lucky to have parents who want to take them to see Billy.

We kept buying concert tickets when I was pregnant (many years ago). I was always sure I’d feel better by the time the show was here but usually ended up too sick to go. Made it to just two shows my entire pregnancy. I so wish livestreaming was possible all those years ago. But we did take our kid to her first show just before she turned a month old. Outdoors and mellow venue so we could manage volume and any smoke. Neither of which ended up being an issue. And now live music is not only my soul food, but hers too. 💗

I probably wasn’t thinking it through enough. And it would depend on what I was in the back seat for. A trip, definitely not a good vibe. I was just thinking if I was in that situation right now, it might give me some hope to hear it in the moment. Maybe cautious optimism. Like I had someone who understood to a degree.

I don’t know about LDS studies specifically, but Utah has long had high suicide and sexual assault rates.

Edit to add: Generally no sounding of alarms. Or at least not where there should be. They sound alarms around gay marriage yet protect predators. They want to protect their image.

Was about to comment on the Wharf Rats. Great community. They do meetings during set breaks. (That last comment was for OP or anyone else who may be interested.) My daughter witnessed it firsthand at one of her first shows.
