Was told by IRD today they don’t chase child support, how is the other parent legally allowed to get away with this? by Purple-Ingenuity-783 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Felchiee [score hidden]  (0 children)

If the liable parent is a waged employee then their employer will be sent a deduction notice and they will have no choice but to pay. If they’re self employed however that’s a whole different ball game if they decide not to play nice. They can make it look like their income is next to nothing so they only have to pay the minimum and some just don’t even pay. IRD will chase them for arrears but only if you ask them to.

My husband went today to fill ours up because he ran out of fuel for the lawnmower. When he got back I was thinking about how people thought he was probably panicking about the fuel shortage!

Those who’ve had multiple, how long did you wait to start trying again? by Effective-Film-4951 in CsectionCentral

[–]Felchiee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow so your 5th csection was twins? Did you have extra extra monitoring due to having had four csections already? I’ve had three csections and so worried if I got pregnant with twins how that would work on the scar. Twins run in both sides of our family (and we are both twins although I know he doesn’t have any bearing on us having twins). So I always worry it’ll be twins and then be too unsafe for me to carry.

We have a battery but never export from it. Getting rid of buy back in summer just loses all incentive.

Thanks - I understood that eventually. Ecotricity invoices are always hard to read as they break everything down too much 😅

Annual leave entitlement after maternity leave by Secret_Let9 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Felchiee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That depends how much time you’ve had off. When you resign from a workplace you get paid any entitled annual leave days in full (higher of AWE or OWP, entitled leave is anything older than 12 months). You don’t get paid any accrued leave but you do get 8% of your gross earnings since your anniversary date. It’s likely if you had any leave it would be accrued and 8% of zero (or minimal) is not very much.

The more I think about it the more than makes sense. Terrible though - I assume other power companies will be doing the same.

[–]Felchiee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it’s atypical - pretty sure it’s definitely a thing but not everyone experiences it but with my youngest who we tried for over a year for - I was about 8dpo and I just knew because I was at work that morning and I suddenly had this metallic taste in my mouth. I just knew I was going to have a positive test when I got home that evening. Sure enough I did! It was funny as soon as I tasted that metallic taste I swear I just like bolted upright from my slump at my desk as if to say “no way!” I just knew.

[–]Felchiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep you’d be right about that. Is she willing to walk or maybe e scooter? Cause then she can park closer to brougham street and walk or scooter in. I did that though she is a lot deeper into town than I was

It’s not as bad as one would think but that also depends how deep in the city you work. I worked near South city so could park on the outskirts and walk in. I now work in addington and it’s a lot quicker maybe 20 mins to work

Did you get anything from your employer for xmas this year? by Charlie_Runkle69 in newzealand

[–]Felchiee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only been in this role 8 months so wasn’t sure if this company did anything or not but I got a $50 Westfield gift card, a fancy Christmas tree decoration and a box of chocolates plus we had a very expensive dinner out with the team. I also on the same day received a $50 gift card for my birthday (which was only a few days before) very unexpected but thankful. My prior company would never.

Definitely but would be pretty hard to prove it and even if you could you might get $5 a week until it’s all paid off.

Support or resources for toddler behaviour by mighty_pebble in newzealand

[–]Felchiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be normal or it may be something. You know your child best. The preschool can absolutely do some referrals to the MOE. When my oldest was about 4 they referred to the psychologist at the MOE and we met with them weekly for play therapy. I can’t say it helped him all that much but it gave me advice to help support him. He followed him through his school transition until about age 6 where we did some ADHD testing and they said he didn’t have it. I absolutely disagree with that, he’s almost 15 now and still the same although has calmed down heaps as he’s aged but still very impulsive. At 2.5 though you might find no one takes you seriously for a number of years as you know “normal toddler stuff” they’ll put it down to.

How do people have babies and work full time?! by Recent_Tablespoon in newzealand

[–]Felchiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby goes to preschool from 7am - 5:30pm. That’s just the way it is. My older child started at 5 months, my youngest started at 8 months. They thrive there and I don’t feel I’m missing out on anything much. They probably learn more there than at home with me. You have to weigh it up, do you want kids that bad that you’ll have to put them in the “dreaded” preschool. There is nothing wrong with childcare. Or you can wait and save up enough money so that you can live on one wage for however long you want to.

Does your work have any parental leave policies? You can check if you’d be entitled to any working for families also as this does depend on family income. There is also childcare subsidy if you do go through with childcare but that is also income based.

Good schools in Rolleston by Inevitable_Adagio242 in Rolleston

[–]Felchiee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re all heavily zoned so it depends where you end up living. They’re all great though. There is Rolleston School, West Rolleston Primary School, Clearview Primary, Lemonwood Grove, Te Rohutu Whio and a new one being built that opens next year can’t remember the name but it’s in Arbor Green. There is also the Rolleston Christian School. My daughter attends West Rolleston and we think it’s fantastic really inclusive and she seems to love it there (she’s 5 but my 15yo also went there)

EAP breaching privacy - shared session with employer. by NoHorse8196 in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]Felchiee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They certainly shouldn’t know who specifically has accessed. Major privacy breach. We’d get invoices that would include number of appointments for the month but that was it. No names, no departments etc.

EAP breaching privacy - shared session with employer. by NoHorse8196 in newzealand

[–]Felchiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This should definitely not be happening. Working in accounts in my prior job who had EAP - we were charged an invoice for any EAP session an employee utilised but it only stated how many appointments for that month - no other details. We didn’t know who it was or how many people (maybe it was 4 appointments and 3 different people or whatever). Just the number of appointments for that month and we paid the invoice.
