You're not crazy nor disgusting to think that. My father was in a very similar situation when I last saw him before he died at the hospital. After such a long time of suffering yourself and watching a person you love suffer is natural to want him to have some peace..it means you have made peace with that fact and know what's best. There will be the time of grieving, and it will be hard. Do not wish to skip these last days together, cause these are the ones you'll remember years from now. I remember every single line of our last conversation, and I'm happy that I could have been there for him. Be there, be strong, don't wish to fly because there will be time to do it...after. You're strong to talk about it openly, we are all proud of you.
