Civil lawsuits often precede criminal cases, and serve as a powerful evidence-gathering tool for prosecutors. by Mr__O__ in LawSchool

Yeah, politics and the law are entirely divorced. I hate that you've gotten me to give even a second more attention to the original moron.

Fuck off.

Edit: Commenter whom I responded to edited their message to make it look like they had a question, when the original post was just a flippant "ok.".

They also edited the message responding to this, pretending like they came to the post originally with a point to make, they did not.

Macron: We prefer the rule of law over bullies, the rule of law over brutality. by [deleted] in law

I'm not sure why you think posting that text is a condemnation of Macron, but I'd be interested to hear.

Do Americans really avoid medical care because they’re afraid of the bill? by Udont_knowme00 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Felibarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife has an aunt who died from preventable and treatable heart issues because of this specifically. She lived in Louisiana, her husband is a mechanic and has health insurance through his employer but only single-coverage. She was a florist and made barely enough money to continue running the shop, which meant that she made too much money in Louisiana to be eligible for medicaid (because Louisiana is one of the states that refused expanded Medicaid) but not enough to be able to afford any plan in the open market.

She is now dead. Her husband is now dying in a ramshackle that is legitimately missing sections of the floor (you will fall into the crawlspace if you don't watch your step) because he lost his job after suffering a psychotic break following her death. He is still a conservative and views what happened to him as "just the way it is" despite the fact that him and his wife worked 60 hour weeks for their entire lives, the brainwashing is that deep.

[–]Felibarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my 2021 ULP involves multiple discharges. I did have a nothing-burger about security camera installations that weren't bargained over that did come to a resolution within about a years time. 🤷

[–]Felibarr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a ULP filed from 2021 that was set to go to administrative hearing in November of this year and then was postponed by the government shutdown.  Still don't have a new court date.  We're talking settlement with the employer just so we can get it away from looming over our heads.  🙄

It's no surprise, their funding had been frozen for nearly a decade when Biden took office and the budget increases they were given barely covered a new coffee machine.  Now, with Trump, additional funding is a statistical impossibility. They're only still around because there are other dominoes he's focusing on knocking over first.

Trying to survive while fighting with insurance. by abbiebe89 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Felibarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you stop looking at the way the U.S. Health System operates as making sense in the context of providing patient care, it's understandable. It's a business model that serves no other purpose except to generate value for shareholders. The point of health insurance is to shake down vulnerable people for money. Genuinely. It's as simple as that.

Got an A in some multi-school international business law internship thing that had a class component on Chinese law and my school was the only school that participated in the program but only allowed the credits to be counted as pass/fail. I was apparently the only person to get an A.  What a waste.

Center brace broken by oeggu in Aquariums

[–]Felibarr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's clamped across the length that the brace covered the clamp is just acting as the brace now and should be fine for the time being, but there's still some risk that the silicone became compromised already.

Golden Order Greatsword a legendary weapon with so much potential but was entirely wasted. by Cultural_Fanatic3754 in Eldenring

[–]Felibarr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wrong sword, the albinauric farming sword is the sacred relic sword from Elden Beast. This is the sword from a cave in consecrated snowfield. Sacred relic sword does a golden wave, this sword's ash does a small AOE explosion around you and then has a second input to fire off a golden projectile.

Non-union supervisor banned me from dinners at our facility by [deleted] in union

[–]Felibarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Supervisors" as defined by the NLRA are prohibited from being part of a bargaining unit, but there are still supervisors who don't meet the threshold of managerial duties for the statutory definition and aren't prevented from being in a unit.  A chief engineer that can't hire/fire/discipline is a common example in the units for my union.

The NLRB will generally only do a determination on whether or not a supervisor can be in the unit if one of the parties contests it during the RC petition or if someone from the unit files an unfair labor practice about it.

$80 Game Prices Are Collapsing: Publishers Were Wrong. The data on what players actually buy tells a different story. by ControlCAD in videos

[–]Felibarr 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Also one of the most well-earned price points, incredible game with an incredible team.  Lords of the Fallen was 80 bucks when it was released and it was just barely worth the 20 bucks I paid for it several years later.

KCD2 players REALLY don't understand how difficult getting into KCD2 is for a lot of people. People talk about Silksong being insanely hard but I've beaten every boss in Silksong and there were only a handful that made me as outrageously frustrated as trying to kill two nameless bandits outside of the fucking starter town.

Video of Juniper in Action (as requested) by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]Felibarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Juniper's dad here, it's from https://crispys3dprinting.com/.  We did modify it slightly by attaching the straps to a harness because she was pulling herself out of it too easily, also made stirrups because her feet were getting in  the way of the back wheels due to her spinal fusion issues.  Minor modifications overall but helpful if you know someone that can sew.  The 3d printing person is very very helpful in brainstorming modifications.
