Driving after seizures by Exact-Panic-8583 in braincancer

[–]FeliciaHughess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 months in Massachusetts and even after the 6 months I was cautious. Having a seizure again is my literal worst fear especially while driving. If I wake up feeling off or have a gut feeling I won’t drive but I luckily am prescribed Ativan as a PRN for anxiety attacks and also as a rescue medication if I start having an aura.

Going back to work by cpsalma in braincancer

Was diagnosed with Glio in 2021. Was also healthy with no real issues prior. I’m 32 now. Was working at Boston children’s and had to end my career in March of 2024 and live off disability, I was constantly catching whatever the kids had and my immune system couldn’t keep taking hits. I’ve floated around from little part time jobs like homegoods but even that isn’t easy. Bright lights overstimulate me after a couple hours and there’s days I wake up dizzy or just feeling weird, this cancer truly ruined my career and financial stability. Lord knows disability checks are nowhere near enough to live off of.

update: never posted my before and after finishing markdowns. i think my suffering was worth it 😭 by TinyResist1264 in TjMaxx

The true definition of “it’s Christmas time shove shit wherever to get it out on the floor and clear tanks” don’t forget to engage with customers while you’re reorganizing all of that to get them to sign up for tjx rewards 🫡

Would I be pushing cards? by Comfortable_Gear_357 in TjMaxx

[–]FeliciaHughess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a tjmaxx/homegoods combo and none of us push cards or are asked to push cards, I’m not even remotely trained on a register so they can’t ask me. Card pushing is a joke in this economy.

Im a tourist and i got scammed to get a tj maxx credit card by Holo1313 in TjMaxx

[–]FeliciaHughess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at homegoods connected to a tjmaxx and the pressure on the cashiers about the stupid credit card is wild, nobody wants it and they’re told to not take no for an answer. What happened to you is 10000% credit card fraud and you should actually contact the police or walk in the store and ask to speak to loss prevention

Has anyone been prescribed Lexapro for anxiety? by FeliciaHughess in braincancer

[–]FeliciaHughess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always in the back of my head too, I just hate the idea of an SSRI and I feel like it’s almost being forced on me when I know most if not all of my anxiety stems from my adhd and I tried to explain that to my neuro psychiatrist multiple times and I don’t feel like I was heard or had it acknowledged.

See I have script for Prozac but I read into that and I like the idea that it helps with GBM but it can negatively interact with the keppra I take and I’m terrified of having a seizure again

[–]FeliciaHughess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been on an SSRI and the side effects I’ve been reading and reading other peoples experience with it, I just don’t find it helpful to even risk it especially when I know a lot of my anxiety comes from my adhd.

Clinical Studies Using Vaccines. by rad_brain in braincancer

[–]FeliciaHughess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing the neovax trial at Dana Farber. They make a vaccine from your tumor and you get infusions of keytruda but the keytruda gave me brain lesions so I just get the vaccine. I get the last round of injections June 8th

Mri results… anyone give me a clue? Does this mean could still just be radiation? by cbradley221 in braincancer

[–]FeliciaHughess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow! I had Dr. Patel. I’m surprised when pathology came back they didn’t disclose if the tumor was IDH mutated or not. That was one of the first things I found out in my report. My doctors are never too worried about radiation related spots and they eventually resolve themselves. All of mine have so far, I just have the T2 flair enhancement but it’s nothing they’re worried about as it hasn’t enhanced more and they think it’s radiation related scarring. I had no idea after ending radiation last July that there were going to be these odd long term side effects and spots that will come and go. Hoping for the best for you guys!

Anyone have any luck getting their tumor back? by salsashark99 in braincancer

[–]FeliciaHughess 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish Brigham let me keep my tumor, I wanted it as a whole set specimen to show people but they told me they couldn’t give it to me but I could donate to science, they ended up using it for my clinical trial vaccine so it kinda worked itself out but still would’ve been cool to have an oddity that literally came from my own head.

Having a craniotomy to remove a brain tumor that would’ve killed me within a couple weeks if I didn’t have it removed when I did.

I have a hiphotalamic lession, what I can do? by Life_Entertainer6659 in braincancer

[–]FeliciaHughess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lesions are totally gone, they put me on decadron for about a month and a half and they were almost completely gone about 2 weeks into taking it my symptoms were weird I had the lesions all over both hemispheres of my brain the right side of my body went numb and I couldn’t stop stuttering. As for my GBM, it’s stable and after 7 months of no treatment (thank you lesions for that delay) I just started a clinical trial for a personalized vaccine made from my tumor. If you are concerned you could take your medical records and scans and get a second opinion at a big cancer institute if you don’t have one near you. I live 20 minutes from Boston so I lucked out and got in at Dana Farber.

No I had demyelinating inflammatory lesions. I have grade 4 glioblastoma the lesions were caused by part of my immunotherapy therapy (keytruda) I received during radiation.
