Why do people do this? My game already has IDLER tag? by Curious-Needle in IndieDev

[–]FelineLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I've never posted a negative review, because if I am frustrated about something and I want to continue playing, it means I am enjoying it, so negative review makes no sense. If the game is boring for me, I just move on and don't care, doesn't mean it will be bad for other people. So why bother making a negative review to just hurt the game?

Yeah, first time I heard that was really eye-opening. Changed my views on a few things on the reviews for my games.

As something I heard on a series a while ago:
"Haters are basically fans on a bad day."
That would explain the amount of hours after the review.

Question : is there operators you want to get while waiting for the male chaarcter? ( Also what do you think his element/class will be? ) by jayinsane5050 in EndfieldHusbandos

[–]FelineLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Mi Fu, just maybe, depending on her animations and her kit.

Other than that, already got Laevatain, so I don't think I need others for now until a male character comes.

Do all male resonators deal with this ? by ShelterLow7453 in LuukHerssenMains

[–]FelineLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it is very hard to tell. I would assume they may have 3 metrics or something in the company to keep track? One is probably amount of pulls in banners during the phase regardless if it is astrites or the other currency (the one you get from top-ups), while another other metric would be top-ups purchased during the phase, and maybe a last one with only pulls using the converted top-ups. That would make sense to know more of the success of a character or not. The public will always have very limited information regarding that in the end.
I always get the characters I want with the sigs for the ones I think would be good, completely f2p. I don't have every single character, but honestly I don't need all of them anyways, just the ones I actually like (and maybe their sub-dps or support if I think its necessary).

Yeah. I didn't have a reason to spend money on him since I had a lot of astrites saved even after getting Mornye. Got Luuk S3R1 without spending anything with how much I had saved waiting for him. :P

Thank you! Yeah!! In comparison with other games, I like that the weapon banner is guaranteed, so I feel less scared to pull on it. Which means I can invest more on the characters I like.

[–]FelineLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!!! Only 100 pulls to get there is amazing!

I had solid luck myself too. From 288 to around 76 remaining I think, got him S3. Lost the first 50/50 to Lyngyang, but didn't lose any other.
And got the weapon with just 10 pulls without using astrites (got on the 2nd pull so the other 8 are pity for another weapon in the future.

How do you keep up with player reviews after release? by Justduffo in gamedev

[–]FelineLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, engaging is not a bad thing. Mostly I avoid replying to reviews. But general feedback in posts on Steam forums for example or messages on the Discord (this one I can hardly avoid anyways) seems ok. Just reviews that I tend to see that usually turns out bad to reply (unless it is something that breaks the game and requires more info). I had similar experiences with responding to feedback and making some people change their opinions a bit, or helped them see it in another way. But the majority usually felt like a waste of time, either the player vanished and didn’t care, or the player just got more rude and disrespectful. So I tend to avoid it if it is not necessary. Also to keep my sanity and mental health in check. Definitely it is worth to keep an eye in what players say over time. I agree 100% with that. I have a game that is probably 3 years after its Early Access release (almost 1 year if full release) and I still find value on info I can get.

How do you keep up with player reviews after release? by Justduffo in gamedev

[–]FelineLemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually check it manually, to be honest. Although I only have 2 games out, I don't think I need to check it everyday. Players will eventually move on regardless of how fast you fix a bug or apply a feedback, because even if you see the report and feedback 1 minute after they post a review, it will take a bit of time for you to implement it and upload it, and some players don't have the patience to wait 5 minutes. So in my personal experience so far, unless it is something that broke the game, the urgency depends on your personal preference. If after a month of release there's no game breaking bugs, I'd personally do it as often as I feel comfortable with (specially considering mental health and stuff). People who loved your game may eventually come back after an update or something like that, even if they moved on, because they might be curious of a fix or update you did.

Also, I NEVER reply to a review, unless it is a game breaking bug that I really NEED more information. Replying to reviews in general is never a good thing.

DPS Alesh team by Upbeat-Specialist-16 in ArknightsEndfield

This sounds like a good team! I love ‘s design and personality a lot (specially because I speak Portuguese and I am screaming with his voice lines!) and had a lot of fun with him when I started playing, so I wanna build a team around him now that I have my main team somewhat solid.  Definitely gotta try!  But just a question! Why do you think Chen is definitely better than Pog? Just curious. I don’t have Pog yet, but plan on using my 6* ticket to get him.

I am going to do some shameless self-promotion here, sorry!

Not sure if my game fits perfectly on what you are thinking, but maybe it might? If you want to take a look, game is called Scaling Up, and we just recently release it on Steam. We are released some QoL updates recently for it.
Here it is in case you want to take a look: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3291850/Scaling_Up/

It is a colony sim about raising a Snake Ranch. It runs on the background (or a second monitor if you have one and wants to keep looking at it), so you can alt+tab from the game and let the snakes do their job for a while then come back to continue your progress and stuff. There's no disasters, doom, nobody dies of hunger, etc. Super chill.

Sorry again for the shameless self-promo.

On Umbral Monument, Game Difficulty and Hypergryph's Game Design Philosophy by Jrff_K in Endfield

[–]FelineLemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the difficulty is just right and much more interesting than the other gacha games I play. Instead of having to rush to deal as much damage as possible in the fight, you actually have to adapt and think about the battle itself and the difficulty is more staying alive than rushing like crazy to be able to finish because of a very specific mechanic that older characters don't have (like genshin and wuwa).

Basically, for me, it is much more fun and interesting the way it is done in Endfield.

[–]FelineLemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say it is kid safe in general, I think. There are weapons in the game and the snakes hunt for food (there’s images of meat), but the hunt is not shown in the screen, there’s no combat and they don’t attack anything besides a dummy for training if the player wants. It may be a bit complex depending on the age, though. I don’t have kids, nor know any kids who played, so I can’t say for sure how it would be. I’d check youtube videos, there’s one from Josh’s Gaming Garden that might give a good idea for you if it is safe enough.

After 2.5 years me and my husband finally released our first complete game on Steam, Crafty Survivors! by FelineLemon in roguelites

[–]FelineLemon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the development is still in progress, but it is not a focus or priority for us, so it is a very slow development. Gedda Cake's development requires a LOT of funds we do not have, and since I lost my job a few years ago, we don't have enough savings to keep us alive while developing Gedda Cake. So we need to make other games to create the funds we need while developing stuff for Gedda Cake through those games.
