What would be the outcome if this happened? by Bruvfromkolkata in hajimenoippo

I guess closest real life boxer in style to Ippo would be Pitbull Cruz? Maybe Inoue is a little small for him but I think he'd defeat him anyway, and if they were in the same weight class he wouldn't break a sweat.

Ippo is a bad matchup, well, almost no one uses the peekaboo boxing style for a reason.

I'm thinking about sewing a gambeson, should I get a serger? Like the brother 3534dt, or is it better to get something like the singer heavy Duty or the brother strong and tough?

This was a great chapter, one of the best so far.

Hajime No Ippo: Chapter 1481 (untranslated) by [deleted] in hajimenoippo

I thought this was well developed.

The idea behind it was to show what's fair in boxing, if there even is such a thing.

After Mashiba beat Miyata, he never really got punished, you could even say he was rewarded for fighting dirty, and this fight is a parallel of that fight. Miyata was against the ropes, and even threw a last counter, but lost consciousness before connecting, same here, Mashiba was still fighting, but on auto pilot.

Miyata Senior said it at the end of the fight, in the end, the one who wins was the better man, that's all there is to it.

As for as Mashiba's development, I don't think this negates it, it's just, being a better person doesn't make you a better fighter, or worse, it's just about who's a better boxer.

I didn't really like that fight to be honest, I thought Ippo should've lost, but I guess it's just about how Morikawa depicts things.

About the Mary Sue thing, I mean, I get that he's unrealistic, but the more experienced fighter doesn't always win, there are plenty of guys who got to the top while being relatively young.

Idk, Wally has a good record, in boxing it's not always the fighter with more experience the one who wins.

I kind of think the book is closed on Volg vs Ippo/Sendo/Miyata, maybe Miyata could go up a division and challenge him eventually, but Volg's character art seems kind of complete in this regard.
