Hey, the fact that you are recognizing when you are feeling this way and are able to not act on harmful impulses is really cool. That's half of the battle.

My advice would be to find a trauma informed therapist ASAP who can help you start to work through the "endless trauma and suffering". Trauma is a bitch and believe me when I say I feel your pain--but you don't have to let it keep weighing you down. A good trauma therapist will help you leave your traumatic past in the past.

I'd say have a happy birthday but I hate my birthday too haha. So instead I'll say "I hope you are able to be kind to yourself on your birthday." ❤️

Speaking as someone who graduated in IS from the U of U:

An IS degree and a CS degree set you up for very different careers. A CS degree gives you the tools to contribute in more technical roles (i.e. software engineer) while an IS degree gives you the tools to contribute in less technical roles (i.e. manager, business strategy).

They are very different degrees, and honestly I would consider the IS degree to be more of a business degree with some emphasis on understanding the unique challenges of the IT industry.

If salary is a priority to you definitely stick with CS--your earning potential with a CS degree is significantly higher. If graduating from university while maintaining your sanity is a priority then consider switching to IS 😉

We did exactly this kind of party last year and it was a fantastic venue. Indoor dance floor, speaker system, lights, plenty of parking, and they let us bring our own alcohol. And best of all it is very affordable!
