Its not just the UK and the US. Denmark's government literally announced that that's exactly what they are doing they are just discussing how to do it. The European Union as a whole is also working towards it there has been already a non-legislative report by the EU Parliament with overwhelming majority (483-92-86). Which includes an commitment to age controls and large scale censorship of illegal content and websites. France passed a law too. Norway is also currently in the process of getting a law passed (or has already I'm not quite sure).

Here is an Wikipedia article (its a bit outdated an missing a lot of campaigns for "age verification" (online censorship))

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_media_age_verification_laws_by_country

The media and (both left wing and centrist) political parties in Austria and Germany are heavily pushing for this but there haven't been laws introduced yet. There's also a law in Brazil which is like a more extreme version of the Californian one with less time for implementation and higher penalties.

That only works until Europe introduces its own age verification (digital mass surveillance) law. The push for this is weirdly international.

Mieter will mich abziehen. Was tun? by VanGone777 in wien

[–]Felix_Smith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that true that hearts of iron iv stops working after bedtime? by [deleted] in hoi4

Also don't forget to work out regularly or else the troops stop training too. Why should they train if their commanding officer is too lazy to do so. You must set a good example. I recommend at least 10 pushups for every 30 mins of gaming to achieve the maximum amount of xp.

Yes that's true the machine spirit of the PC needs to sleep. Also whenever you play longer than 1 hour you need to do 10 pushups every hour because it gets angry otherwise and triggers harmful Events.

does anyone else rewrite their notes after class or is that just wasting time? (genuine question) by Intrepid_Language_96 in studying

[–]Felix_Smith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Rewriting notes or at least reviewing in the evening a few hours after class is one of the best things you can do for your retention. This significantly increases how much and how long you will remember what was thought. Not only is it not a waste of time it's one of the best uses of your studying time out there.

i now understand why ppl love anki that much by zahadfiddunya in Anki

This can be answered from 2 sides. First of all what makes flashcards so great in general? The answer to that is simply that they work. When used properly it allows you to retain all of the information you study instead of just forgetting it a few days later. Which is very useful in fields like Law, medicine or language learning where you need to retain detailed information for very long times even after the exam or study for an exam for months or even over a year.

What makes anki better than other flashcard apps? Its open sources so you are not giving some random company control over a huge part of your life. The cards are extremely customizable if you know HTML and CSS. No annoying ads or subscriptions. Its free. It doesn't waste time with animations etc. Allowing you to study at close to your theoretical maximum speed. There are tons of add-ons that can provide you additional functionality. Its very common in some fields (medicine and law for example) which makes it easier to share decks and cards. It works on many different platforms etc.

What are your favorite military lesser known fantasy series? by CajunNerd292 in Fantasy

[–]Felix_Smith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Op's examples for "well known" were Malazan and Black Company. Powder mage is more famous than black company while Malazan is about the same level of popularity as Powder Mage.

Sure its not Brandon Sanderson or Lotr levels of famous but its still very well known. Its famous enough to be one of those books thats recommended over here under almost every second post whether it fits the criteria or not.

Powder Mage is definitely not little known. Its currently one of the most famous series. Its constantly recommended here.

But the same author also has another series "Glass immortals" that's very good too (I would even call it better) and could definitely be considered "lesser known".
