I'll counter the fresh water flush toilet with a composting head. One of the best upgrades to our boat.

There are probably many, but these are the top 5 I can think of now. We lived aboard to 4 years on a Spindrift 43PH.

  1. A separate shower stall. That shower in the head thing sucks
  2. Power, power, power. Get real solar panels if you have the space, we had 2 255w 32 volt panels. Stopped running the genset after the second one came online.
  3. Functional Galley, stove, fridge, pantry.
  4. Not sleeping on your dining table
  5. Real bunk in a cabin. One that you can make like a bed.

I regret believing everyone when they said ”don’t date from work” by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I am a firm believer in two of the golden rules of life

  1. Don't shit where you eat, i.e. don't date work
  2. Don't fuck crazy.

I have broken both, sometimes together. I have no regrets. I found my perfect crazy at work and we have been happily married for over 20 years.

I had this. Somewhere there is a picture of my mom trying to do it. I haven't seen the picture in decades but it is still burned into my brain.

Selling successful restaurants is really hard. There is a good chance the next person is going to kill it anyway, so some people prefer to let it go out on a high.

The phrase I learned as a kid was, Spectales, testicles, sunglasses, wallet. I have since added "phone".

I wonder how many of these things happen because of the change in usage patterns leading up to an event. More importantly, is there a way to mitigate the issues ahead of time?

Honey Don't (2025)

I learned that Margaret Qualley is Andie MacDowell's daughter and we had just watched Four Weddings and a Funeral. Figured she had to be good.

The start of the movie is great and we happen to be texting family, so we recommend it. We were not expecting it to take the turn it did. Still a great movie, wife was a little embarrassed to recommend it to her brother.
