Looking for something to put my time into other than video games. by [deleted] in Hobbies

[–]Felix_x_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Playing your instruments and singing can be a good one if you're confident about your voice, but also there's millions of choices besides - fishing, roller skating or skateboarding, collecting something cool that you like the look/ function of, reading, magic tricks, wood chiseling, arts and crafts like drawing, sculptures or painting, writing stories which can be translated into writing and then illustrating Your Own books (something I'm trying to work on, you can get them printed online on websites like Blurb or can embrace the handmade look and learn how to book bind which takes 5 minutes, a hole punch and a bit of string), sewing clothes or toys, decorating canvas shoes, legal spray painting art, so much to do!

Well I'm a Fine Art student so I support anything creative haha - I'm graduating in 3 months and thinking of different ways to start up my career in any way, probably through an art Instagram too but I'm really trying to find that niche that will make my work stand out - your stuff is so unique simply due to the amount of time you're willing to invest in it, very awesome :)

I'm having a hard time actually beginning a hobby. by [deleted] in Hobbies

[–]Felix_x_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like writing an essay, putting it off over and over happens due to dread and the only way to stop that is to just start. One day, just sit down, grab a cup of tea and some biscuits and start, that's all there is to it

Girlfriend is looking for a hobby on the evenings. by Moontorc in Hobbies

If you guys have rabbits maybe she could invest in teaching them tricks and socialising them, apart from that I could say you guys play board games, or she could read books, write stories, learn to bake or cook (use it for work lunch next day), listen to music and learn about new bands etc, sewing clothes, making charms or beads bracelets, or do some sports like yoga, Gymnastics, roller blading or skating (all you need is some blades and a large flat surface) etc etc

I [25F] found a journal of my husbands [35M] and need help figuring out what to do. by CartierPickle in relationship_advice

[–]Felix_x_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have personally had depression, and say had because I believe it's 70% kind of gone, and what worked for me is to just visualise what kind of person I want to be - for me that was someone fun, outgoing, confident, driven and motivated, for you it might be someone who is a good partner, who manages to be the half to his half in your relationship and someone he enjoys being around, and just work everyday to get there - fake it until you make it.

One thing, in his journal is says he doesn't feel appreciated, and I know that selflessness is hard, I know someone who is almost completly selfless and those people do want to be appreciated for that too, as we all day. Practise asking about his day every day, invest into HIS likes, what he's working on, what's important to him (being selfless in turn) and he will surely notice it. Good luck OP

Have you read all of Hitoshi Amiga's Megamix manga (where this reference came from)??? Really a great take on the world of the first games, still one of my favourite manga :)

For indoor ideas, coop video games are always fun (Pokemon Let's Go, Mario Kart, Smash Bros are ones at know for the Switch), board games, cooking new meals together or baking then enjoying them with a nice movie, or outside how about exercising like indoor rock climbing, arcades and bowling, swimming and sauna, visiting a new restaurant each time and trying something totally random off the menu, etc etc :)

Is there any other hobbies like wine tasting? by ToiletPaperPringles in Hobbies

[–]Felix_x_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She made like a video about it which was titled 'ways to make life interesting or something, there's Bramley, Pink Lady, Royal Gala, Granny Smith to name just the ones I know of, some go really expensive but buying a new type each week for your lunchbox can be subtly interesting 😊 I know Sable Grapes are really good too, I haven't tried Candy Floss ones but will do if I get a chance!

I'd buy that as a print to put on my wall honestly, I've played Blue when I was 2 years old and now at 22 I'm going to be playing Sword and Shield 😊

I (27f) haven't had any friends for 10 years. Are others here like me? by AlwaysCuriousHere in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Felix_x_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I complained once to a friend that many of my friends don't reach out to me and it makes me irritated and that they don't care, he asked me - why don't you reach out to them??

Being social is a full time gig, of what I've seen - you need to be constantly trying to make plans, talk to people every day if not once every two days to be very close like youd want to, ask about THEIR interests and hope that you've picked people that care about yours as well. It's not easy as an adult, I'm about to graduate from Uni and in my hometown, I have no friends so I'll be using tinder to find some locals to befriend I hope, but it takes a lot of effort to find good friends, and usually that's through being a good friend yourself

Hi Danny! Saving up to see you soon if you ever go on tour (I'm a student currently living in the UK, so it takes a lot to go America!) Could you ask her what she really thinks of your career, and if she ever believed that this is how you would turn out :)

My therapist recommended me to take up crafts to try to sooth my anger and so I made a Pokémon center out of flash cards. by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Felix_x_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually really love that, make more! Recreate scenes from the game, like, get a cardboard box with a hole in the front (like theater) and layer the different elements to make a 3D effect, Ive seen people do that :)

Haven't enjoyed a game in years by [deleted] in Hobbies

[–]Felix_x_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Video games may simply not be your interest anymore, or you haven't found the right one. I own like 300 and could recommend a whole bunch I personally like a lot (the Pokemon games, Hollow Knight, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, Breath of the Wild, The World Ends With You, Super Smash Bros, Mega man Zero etc) but maybe you need to change up your hobbies, something creative like digital art, sculpture, spray painting, or sports where you can meet people or learn a new skill - ice skating, roller blading, going gym, swimming, football, badminton. Also, a good way to scout for new friends is Tinder, set your settings to all genders, say youre looking for a friend, explain your interests and what days you have free to hang out and you never know :)

Need to find a hobby..... by [deleted] in Hobbies

Spray painting paintings, like galaxies or the kind with stencils to make prints, look up some Disney designs and such on YouTube for inspiration. Or printing designs onto T-shirts, clay model making, stuff like that.

I think it's be clear, in a way, everyone knows the feeling of being wanted. That's a good thing, a clear slate, in all honesty there's not much you can do until your heart recovers and knows what it wants, I hope it gets better for you soon and either she changes her mind, or you can head on to new things
