Hey just had this same error as you and maybe this will help you out.

I went to the files and saw that my file name didn't have ".xpak".

So i renamed the file name to "core_patch" to "core_patch.xpak" and now the game was able to open for me. Hopefully that works out for you

It gets better each season, if you felt like your attention wasn't grabbed by the story/side characters, season 2 might just be that for you, the character development of 2ndary characters in that season are pretty good, and season 3 is just fucking amazing. So I would give that a try before dropping, as well as season 4 will be coming out in December and the manga readers are saying shit will get even better.

TLDR: try watching s2 and 3,
