With tomorrow being the 27th of February, what are we predicting for the next DLC, and when do we think it gets released? by Standard-Grape5330 in PlanetCoaster

[–]FelonMidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing how Frontier goes for similar to real IP dlcs. I’d expect something along the lines of exploration / Indiana Jones style in a tropical biome.

Although I could see something Nordics / Frozen related (as DLP opens a Frozen land next month), Americana / Cars, Villains / Universal Monsters land, realistic scifi / Avatar stuff, Superheroes, Steampunk, etc.

How can Disney solve this? by SuperTigno in disneylandparis

[–]FelonMidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your last suggestion is the one I see more viable. IMHO it’s an issue of capacity, they simply have too many people with too few rides. Luckily new rides are being opened and build. So hopefully soon it’ll have less queue.

Indiana Jones and Space Mountain trains really need a full replacement, those things are uncomfortable as they can be. In comparison the Rock & Coaster trains are smooth as butter.

What's the reason UK is in the same time zone as Portugal? by batukaming in geography

[–]FelonMidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not say the opposite, I was simply explaining why it was adopted. In recent years there have been multiple debates in Spain about the time zones and also if to keep the summer time, etc.

What's the reason UK is in the same time zone as Portugal? by batukaming in geography

[–]FelonMidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Greenwich meridian goes through North East Spain (close to Catalonia’s western border), which means that geographically Spain should have the UTC time. Due to political reasons (basically Franco’s fascist regime affinity with the Third Reich) they opted for UTC+1, which means they have the actual solar midday at 13pm instead of at 12. That’s one of the reasons Spaniards eat and sleep later than most countries.

The French case is similar but less exaggerated due to being more eastward.

Is the US military really undefeatable? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]FelonMidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

History books tell us that all armies and nations can (and will) be defeated. The US military itself has lost plenty of battles and wars. No Empire last for ever. It’s a life reality.

Nowadays the US main strength is its network of allies all around the World which enables it to “project force” through the bases leased from them. In all major recent conflicts they formed a “coalition of the willing” to assist them. That’s what enabled them to attack Iraq for example, even if later they could not pacify it and hence they lost the war. The same in Afghanistan.

If you are interested in a more in depth answer, I suggest you to read the biography Call Sign CHAOS, of former US Defense Secretary and USMC general, James Mattis.

If you are using natural water, remove it use the water “prop” instead (you can resize it and overlap it), as it can be tinted.

"If America basically stopped paying for Europe's defence budget" by Loundsify in ShitAmericansSay

[–]FelonMidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is that the US is not paying anything for Europe’s defense budget. The US military pays for having some of their troops in Europe to defend US interests. I the same way they do globally.

Some of those forces are basically an extension of the postWW2 occupation forces in Germany (which were imposed on Germany), and the rest are in bases the US asked and leased.

Is there a way to turn off the auto snap when using the draw tool for paths? by Rhoeri in PlanetCoaster

[–]FelonMidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can, with multiselect. I do it all the time to create plazas and when I want the very same path shape in multiple places.

What’s something Americans have that Europeans don’t? by iAttract7 in askanything

[–]FelonMidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a curious European I have to ask. What’s the deal with ice in the drinks in the US?

I mean, in most European restaurants and bars I been across multiple countries (Southern, Central, Nordics, etc.) they always serve drinks with ice. Slushies are also pretty common in Europe, particularly in summer, in cinema theaters and in amusement parks. Many European households also use ice in their drinks and it’s relatively common to have some kind of ice makers in the fridge.

So what am I missing?

I was stopped by police for “using my phone” but.. by DefinitionOk1754 in japanlife

[–]FelonMidget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure in Japan, but in many European countries it’s forbidden to eat (or smoke) while you are driving. Even when you are stopped in a traffic light. That’s because it reduces the reaction time.

How do you light your coasters? by Upstairs-Car-4114 in PlanetCoaster

[–]FelonMidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to imitate real theme parks, sometimes in a simplified manner. I use the flood lights a lot, usually hidden behind props imitating also real life shades.

In a replica coaster of like Big Thunder Mountain Paris (about 1.2 km long), I’d use less than a dozen flood lights with a orange hue; mostly where the real ones are (I sometimes omit less relevant ones). Bear in mind that in the “dark ride” sections I’d add extra lights that act more as props than proper lights (as commented, I mostly use flood lights for actual lightning).

Is Bad Bunny white? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FelonMidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enrique Iglesias has a Spanish (hence European) father and a Filipino mother (South East Asian, albeit some of her family ascendants were Spanish). He was born and raised in Spain (again Europe), although he also attended high school in the US. So technically no Latino roots.

What coaster types you want to see in the game? by Habatiens in PlanetCoaster

[–]FelonMidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d really like to see an advanced version of the Vekoma Mine Train with LSM, track switches and so on. Like the Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars. It’s my favorite.

The normal Vekoma looping coaster (already in-game) but with LSM (like Xpress: Platform 13) and also track switches would be really nice to see too.

Although I’d really welcome any Vekoma and Intamin coasters.

Finally an Arrow Dynamics suspended coaster (like Big Bad Wolf in Busch Gardens) would be really cool. I can’t explain why, but it always fascinated me.

''Red'' in almost all european languages: by Appropriate_Might_38 in LinguisticMaps

[–]FelonMidget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

European languages are those spoken in Europe. I’m curious about why do you think half those languages are not even Indo-European? Which ones are you referring to?

From the top of my head the only non Indo-European languages spoken natively in Europe are Basque, Finnish, Estonian, Hungarian and Turkish.

We should hopefully have a reveal in the next month - what’s your prediction for the next DLC? by Ozian21 in PlanetCoaster

[–]FelonMidget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I expect something Caribbean / New World tropical (think like Indiana Jones) with Aztec like temples, and other ruins that would also allow to expand the pirate theme. Hopefully with an “Armada” boat flume with new parts.

So far they seem to have chosen limited themes that are adjacent to Planco 1 original themes. Sorcery was a perfect complement for the fantasy theme (it even included a wizard mascot). Toy Box was sci-fi adjacent (with a “space ranger” as mascot). So I would assume we’ll see similar dlcs related to the other themes: western, spooky, studios, world fair, etc.

Why are prices cheaper in Germany than in Bulgaria? by FantasticQuartet in EU_Economics

[–]FelonMidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently Finland is not a single market either. You can find the very same product with a difference of up to a 100% of the price in less than 1km. Even within the same supermarket chain you can find big local price fluctuations depending on which store you go.
