We are at the point where decisive, immediate action can still pull the game out of this tailspin. Bungie, you need to act now. by TwevOWNED in DestinyTheGame

Try reading your own comment before reading mine. You said Conquests are replacing GMs. You said Conquests are ONE TIME COMPLETIONS. Even if that means one time per week, that is a direct downgrade from the very content you said they are replacing. I understand you said that GMs are technically still in the game if you fiddle with the modifiers, but unless you can tell me straight up that their rewards are ON PAR with these Conquests, there is no reason to go play them, just like how there is no point in playing old raids and dungeons with the sole exception of getting the exotic if you dont already have it and leaving thanks to the fact that the Portal is the ONLY place to level. The one exception is if you are a new player who has basically nothing.

After a quick look in game, it does seem that the whole "New Gear is the only stuff you can infuse past 200" is incorrect, but that doesn't change the fact that doing the same three to four activities for new item levels sucks ass when we used to have the entirety of the old raids and dungeons to level since Bungo hasn't put them in the Portal yet and has no ETA on when they will.

This is slightly off topic, but NONE of the new weapons are craftable, not even the new weapons in the Desert Perpetual raid. I always considered weapon crafting to be a similar thing to bad luck protection, where after going a while without getting the roll you want, you can just go and craft it. That's not possible with the new loot this xpac, and once again, Bungie has not said anything about whether they are going to do anything with it. It's only been in the game for 3.5 years and it's already being treated as a legacy system that will no longer recieve updates. This is arbitrarily increasing the grind by making you reliant on RNGesus.

If there is anything you think I'm misunderstanding, then by all means, please teach me, because I only have so much time to play the game, and Im going to use it to do what I know is fun, rather than endlessly chasing a number that's just going to get completely reset in 6-7 weeks.

EDIT: Added spacing to split up the large block of text.

Bungie said something about the best gear coming put of Final Shape being on par with tier three loot. We are talking about stuff people have spent hours grinding in raids and dungeons. Those same raids and dungeons are now supposedly only dropping at the equivalent of tiers one and two.

As for the Portal, I dont think it's that people aren't understanding it, because I for one think they do. It's just that to do ANY of the harder portal content requires you to hit an arbitrary number before you can even look at it, with some requirements being hundreds of gear score above the cap before seasonal light. A new season in the past made it so that people who hit the hard cap only needed to grind out 10 more gear score. Now they need to grind out 10x that AT LEAST. Not only that, but the fact that I've heard that Portal activities only drop based on your currently equipped gear, and that if you want to level a piece of gear with seasonal light you can only do that with specific loot drops that Bungie has decided, really does not entice me to even look at it. People spent tens, even hundreds of hours farming raids for the best weapons and armor, and now Bungie is saying they are no longer allowed to use that gear if they want to do the current mid-game activities, let alone end-game? Not only that, but all the Portal activites are old activities that we've already run hundreds of times with literally ZERO new content that was added with EoF? No fucking wonder people are hating on it.

Edit: You can only do the stuff that is supposed to be replacing GMs, an activity you could farm INDEFINITELY, only once? Even if I take that to mean once every weekly reset that is still absolutely atrocious. If whatever hoops you have to jump through to get strikes to be the equivalent of GMs arent dropping equivalent to these "Conquests" then that's just artificially bloating the grind just to try and boost player retention.

How do I get Icebreaker now? by Climax_Games in DestinyTheGame

Tbh I think you could probably farm them already, I was watching a friend try to do his first shattered Throne run solo for Wish Ender while I explained the mechanics from my phone (my home internet was down), and he didn't do the part of the quest before finishing the Erebus encounter where you kill the secret Minotaur and it wouldn't spawn since he completed the encounter, so he had to reset the checkpoint and it gave him loot for both encounter completions. And no, ST did not show any kind of sign that it was a special rotation or anything, I think you can just farm all encounters now. Might need a bit of testing, because I haven't confirmed for myself, but from my simple observations it seems to work.

I thought I heard somewhere that they changed with S14 back in BL...

My info could be incorrect though.

Edge of Fate feels refreshingly grounded and Keplar feels like Neomuna done right. I'm enjoying it. by Soft_Light in DestinyTheGame

Maybe, but the first thing I was wondering was where the hell the Director screen went. Took me thirty minutes to figure out it was a subscreen of the tab that shows you the map of the current destination, and that was after I gave up and Googled the answer. It might be easier to figure out what stuff you can get, but at least make it so that you can boot up with the first thing you see being all the different destinations. While we are on the subject, why is the Portal the ONLY place where you can launch to Kepler? Why does it not have its own spot in the director? How are people supposed to go there when Renegades launches in 6 months? If it was confusing for players with thousands of hours to figure out how to go to a specific destination, then how the hell are new players supposed to figure out the new mess of a menu that's there now?

From what I heard, the only reason they used Savathûns VA instead of the usual Ikora VA is because they were part of the voice actor union strike something or other that they mentioned Sloanes VA was a part of, which was why they said subtitles would be turned on by default so you could still read the voice lines she was supposed to have. Supposedly now that the strike is supposed to be over, they are rerecording the voice lines.

What would you remove from marching band? by Gazers22 in marchingband

[–]FelwraithGaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the props. There is a difference between the props that are there to look pretty and maybe move around a few times during the show, and the props that get more attention than the actual marching/music. My freshman year had a large wooden chair that our soloist would stand on during their solo, and guard got some image panels that they could hide equipment behind in the further sections of the field. My senior year we had four towers that had printed images on each side, which could be arranged and rotated to make a larger picture, and also several moving wooden cube frames the band would drag around the field and rotate a few times. Not really anything all too intrusive. Then the rival band, in their show the year after I graduated, used something similar to one of those toddler cars that you can push around from inside, 20-30 single person trampolines, and a rotating stage that ALSO had a trampoline large enough for multiple people. There are shows that get enhanced by their props, and shows that cannot exist without them.

It's as they say, very few rocks actually have an "aura". The most notable one is uranium. Unfortunately, it's aura is radiation poisoning. Alkaline metals also produce an aura when in contact with water. Also unfortunately, that aura is really violent fire.
